Just read Book 15.
Saw literally NONE OF IT coming.
(Spoilers, and I mean very very huge spoilers, literally the biggest plot twist that is barely even hinted at so don't ruin the surprise for yourselves).
First of all, Luna's perspective is amazing. Throughout all the other books we see her as a badass revolutionary but turns out she's an anxiety queen that uses tapestries to cope with panic and I'm loving it. Probably the best and most unexpected character development I've read so far.
Pineapple. Everything about this dragon is amazing. Love him. And he has the privilege of being with the loudest, pink-est, most friendliest RainWing there could ever possibly be. (Except for maybe Kinkajou).
But WHOA. The Othermind. Is a possibly thousand-year-old grumpy dude with a dragon slave. Who lives in an underground abyss made entirely of vines. Who caused the FREAKING SCORCHING.
GUYS WE FINALLY HAVE OUR ANSWER. WE KNOW WHAT THE SCORCHING IS NOW. Honestly, this is one of the things I always thought would remain a mystery.
Very happy to see Wren and Sky again, and Axolotl is an amazing addition to the humans-who-speak-Dragon team. The little "No eat!" when the dragonets were poking them was adorable.
And dragons refer to humans as humans now! They recognise their intellect and abilities and see them as allies!
It was happy and fun until Luna fell down the abyss and I just thought OH MY GOSH THE ABYSS WANTS LUNA FOR A SACRIFICE but no turns out it wants Sundew to advance it because it aint strong enough to do it itself, I'm looking at you, Cottonmouth. Get off your lazy throne once in a while.
Lizard, though. Such trauma. Such sad.
None of my theories were true. :D
