A/N- Hello everyone! This is my first Wattpad book so spare me for grammatical errors, dumb plot-holes and all that jazz. I just want to say that this book is entirely a work of fiction (if that wasn't obvious) and I won't be naming that many places, just describing the surroundings. All you need to know is that this book takes place in The States. I may not be the best at describing action and stuff so I would love tips if you wanna give them. It would really mean a ton if you vote and share this book!!!

Diana POV
It doesn't give me much joy that I am journaling all of this but my therapist said that it would make me feel less burdened. I have never written a "note to self" let alone a journal so I am just gonna treat this like I am writing a story. About my life. So, here we go!
To start at the start, my name is Diana Everdeen. I am 22 years old and I enjoy diving, reading, painting and...OH! killing the undead(meaning zombies). I mean it is not my favorite pastime but it came really close to becoming one, especially last year. I am not gonna get into it right now but you should probably know some more "me" things about me. I have light brown hair, blue eyes, a fairly round face and I am 5'9. I don't know what else to really tell you now. Gosh, it is actually pretty hard describing myself. Don't worry though you won't need my description as I am not eye-candy at all.
Let me give you a little background about the virus that turns humans into mutated versions of themselves and exhibit cannibalistic behavior! It is not clear how exactly the virus came to be but it is said that the experiment in a pharmaceutical research center went extremely wrong.
This is a brief summary of all symptoms and uh the condition that a person goes through if he/she/they are infected.
It can take anywhere from up to 5 to 30 minutes for a person to start showing the symptoms. It usually starts off with the feeling of fatigue and an intense headache along with their skin turning really pale. The second stage includes vomiting, coughing and even epileptic seizures. In this, a person's consciousness is in the middle of elapsing. They might experience a past memory or say nonsensical things. In the the third and final stage, they have completely lost their consciousness and do not have control over themselves, they have this immense feeling of hunger. I am pretty sure you know what that would lead to, eating anything alive.
The past year has been very eventful for me and no, not in a good way. I have lived, loved, lost but the one thing that kept me going to stay alive and protect my loved ones, was willpower. I do not want to make this all sappy but if you feel like you're lost and wanna give up, don't. It all works out in the end. Anyway, I have to leave some emotional stuff for the upcoming narration so cringe-fest is over!
So with out much ado, let's get started.
