Abbigail

Beth and I took turns making love to Shawn. It helped distract her from her PTSD and she was able to fall asleep after a nice relaxing bath. We were going to lay with her but Joyce said she was on her way with dinner for us.

We waited for her in the living room. I let my head rest on Beth's shoulder and caress her stomach. I wanted her to know that I accept her baby and I hoped that by doing this she knew that. I hear her sigh in relief and knew that she realized that I accept her and her baby. She places her hand over mine and relaxes next to me.

Moments later I hear as Joyce lets herself in. "You girls okay? Where's Shawn," she asks in a soothing tone.

"Abbigail was just making me realize that she accepts my baby," Beth chokes in a relieved whisper.

"I'm not my mother," I say in a soothing tone and rub at her stomach. "You've been like another sister to me, especially after I lost my sight. I know you bullied Shawn because you liked her, but you've been very protective of me. I don't want to lose that."

"I'm not going anywhere," Beth chokes quietly and kisses my head. She let's out a calming breath and says, "Shawn fell asleep just before you said you were coming with dinner."

"Fell asleep or was tired out," Joyce asks with a laugh.

Beth and I giggle. "We may have distracted her a little too well," Beth says in a light laugh.

"I'm not sure how long it'll last though. She was in the hospital for a week after her accident and still had an attack while she was sleeping," I choke quietly. "She had an attack after Aunt Carolyn's twenty-one gun salute memorial. This time she was shot, there's no telling what could happen."

I no more than say it before we hear her screaming. I got up to go calm her down and heard Joyce choke, "Let her go. She's been the only one to calm her down when she gets like this."

When I reach the room I climb in bed and straddle her. I place her hands on my stomach and moments later the twins kick at her hands. I feel as she sits up, wrapping her arms around me, with her head on my chest and lets out calming breaths. I hold her head to my chest and gently sway from side to side, lulling her back to sleep.

I knew she was asleep when her arms started to slip from around my waist. I could smell Beth and Joyce as they came on either side and gently lay her back on the pillows. I move to lay next to her and find the scar I normally trace when I calm her down. The second I start I could hear her calming sigh and feel her body relax underneath me.

I hear Beth and Joyce sigh in relief and feel Shelby lay at the foot of the bed. I could hear her breaths and heart beat slow down and let out a relieved sigh. I feel her arm wrap around my back, pulling me closer to her. The twins kick at her side and she lets out a relieved breath.

"Hi sweetheart," Joyce chokes with relief. "How are you feeling?"

"I had an attack just now, didn't I," she asks in a choked whisper, rubbing my drumming stomach.

"Nothing too severe. It barely lasted more than a few minutes," Joyce says in a soothing tone. "Abbigail was able to calm you down rather quickly than usual."

"We were about to eat what your mother was kind enough to bring over," I say softly, changing the subject for Shawn's sake. "Come join us."

"Can we go to sleep after," she asks in a tired whisper.

"I'd like that, I am pretty tired. I was up most of the night waiting to hear about you," I say quietly and give her a kiss.

"I'm sorry, " she says quietly.
