Chapter 2: Genki Nishio

At first, when I saw Atsuko I thought she would be like every girl in this school so I went to her class on the first beak to see her just to know what she looked like, she never told me her name herself, I swear I will get her to tell me her name herself until then I will act like I don't know it already. On the first break, I brought my best friend Kisho. He's always with me, he helps me level up in many things (he loves leveling up things and people) so he mostly keeps me motivated.
First impression of Atsuko...different, not in a bad way or anything but she wasn't shy she knew what she had to do and she even beat me through a door by jumping, I gotta say I was impressed. I knew in English that I wanted to be her friend and I haven't befriended anyone for a very long time so I didn't know what to do, so I started to write notes to her. Once I got her notes I figured that she didn't want to be friends with me so I stopped writing and didn't ask her anything or give her notes in Art and let her be independent.
During art Kisho texted me

Kisho: How does it feel to be rejected?

Genki: gonna bring that up now? I'm already upset and you know that

Kisho: Yeah that's true but I wanna hear it from you
_______________________________
Genki: She doesn't want to be my friend she has made that clear now, so I'll leave her alone

Kisho: What do you mean by she doesn't want to be friends with you?
_______________________________
Genki: I was writing notes to her in class and she told me that she doesn't want to get too close to me because I'm popular and all that

Kisho: At least she knows what would happen if she got too close to you
_______________________________
Genki: True, but still
_______________________________
Kisho: So what are you gonna do now? Do you still wanna be friends with her?

Genki: Of course I do, but I don't want to force her into it
_______________________________
Kisho: Just take it slowly, still talk to her and all that. You guys are in 3 classes together so you'll have enough time before the semester ends to talk to her and all that

Genki: Yeah I know

Kisho: Afterschool do you want to practice together, I got a new game
_______________________________
Genki: Sure where do you want to meet?
_______________________________
Kisho: Behind the school, we can meet by the front doors and walk around
(seen 2:30pm)

Genki: Alright got it, see you then
(Seen 2:30 pm)

After class I headed to the front doors and waited for Kisho, so soon showed up...but late like always, he always played games while he was walking and never pauses even if there is a door in front he would find a way to open it without moving; his eye, arms, fingers or neck.
"Did you seriously have to bring that game, and play it while walking?" I ask him, he doesn't look up like always
"I'm just about to level up, I can't stop now, and when do I ever pause my game for anyone?" he asked me, well there was this one time...
"How about when we were talking to Atsuko? You paused your game for her, didn't you?" I started to tease him with that, and he paused his game, again?
"That's because I was warning her while I still can, to stay clear of you, you know what those other girls that are after you will do to her if she gets too close right?" he tells me, I shake my head "well they could either; beat her up, bully her, isolate her from the rest of the class, start rumors, and the list goes on and on which soon leads to her moving away, understand" Can that happen because of me?
We kept walking to the back of the school and there was a group of girls behind us, could they be any louder?
"What we did......Atsuko" once I heard that name I turned around and looked at them. They all stopped and were a little startled. I walked up to one of them, the one in the middle she looked like the leader
"Would you be so kind and tell me why you mentioned Atsuko's name?" I asked her
"We....umm, we-" she was stuttering. Could what Kisho said be true? Did she get hurt because of me?
"Tell me where she is, then I'll deal with all of you later," I said to them
"We asked her to meet us at the back of the school, she may have already gone home," one of the girls at the end said while the middle girl I was talking to looked at the girl on the right like she was going to stab her or something "don't look at me like that your the one who threatened her with scissors," what did she just say? SCISSORS?!
I get in between that group and start running to the back of the school, is she still there? Is she hurt? It's because of me! It's my fault! I shouldn't have gotten close to her, I have to make it this time. I'm near the back of the school and look through the windows to see if she is there, I go through the doors and start looking for her
"ATSUKO! ARE YOU HERE!" I start yelling, I'm looking for her "IF YOU'RE HERE YOU HAVE TO ANSWER ME!" I'm walking around yelling hoping she will answer
"He-p...m...." I heard something, I go more right and keep looking
"SAY IT ONE MORE TIME!" I yell
"He-p..." I found her, she was on the ground back against the wall, knees bent, holding the back of her head. I move her head "ah......" her head hurts why? Did they use the scissors and hit her head? I moved her head forward and saw blood, I have to get her to the hospital
"GENKI WHERE ARE YOU!?" He can here so fast, never mind that we need to bring her to a hospital quickly
"KISHO COME TO THE LEFT I NEED YOUR HELP SO PUT DOWN YOUR GAME!" I yell back, he comes around the corner and questions what is happening "those girls that were talking behind us, I think they did this to her" I say to him "the back of her head is bleeding we need to bring her to the hospital"
"The better option is to go to the nurse's office and get someone there to call an ambulance, I'll go so you stay with her" After he said that he started running to the nurse's office and I was alone with her
She started to shiver, so I take off my jacket and put it on top of her chest to keep her warm. Didn't she know today was going to be cold? Is she a winter baby of something? She is gonna keep getting colder if I don't move her soon, where is Kisho? I hear footsteps but from where?
"Who is there?" I ask, no response. I know someone is here, why don't they come out? Were they also bullied by those girls? It's not like I can leave Atsuko here, whoever that person is if you were in the same situation. I'm sorry but I have to worry about the person in front of me.

I waited ten more minutes but I couldn't see Koshi anywhere. She needs to get to the hospital quickly. She is losing more blood. That's it I have to move her, I pick her up; I put my arm which is locked between her legs and my other arm held her back up and my hand covered her head so there was pressure on the wound. I start walking towards the front doors and I see no one, no teachers, no nothing. I hear footsteps when I'm about to leave and I see Koshi with a teacher. Finally, they ran towards us while I was walking while holding her head.
"WHY DID IT TAKE YOU SO LONG?!" I yell at them, once they were one foot apart from me and her the person beside Koshi started examining her
"Sorry, I couldn't find the doctor anywhere so I was looking for a teacher in any classrooms and I found-" I cut him off
"I'm sorry but she has to get to a hospital now. She's lost a lot of blood, I believe she hit her head and hit a corner" I tell this teacher
"I've already called an ambulance they should be here in three minutes, you've done very well now hand her to me," I started to move my hands to hand her off to this teacher but she started to sound hurt, and he held onto my sweater tight, she doesn't want to let go
"It's fine, she is kinda comfortable right now and I don't want to irritate her head any more than it has to be," I tell them, Koshi looked at me weirdly but saw her holding onto my sweater tight and leaving it be.
