Chapter 12: Kaori Ito

I was walking alone down the halls after school, there were no students in sight. I can hear cheering on the other side of the school from the gym, I guess something good happened. I normally watch the basketball games but at lunch, I couldn't enter the gym, so I shrugged and kept walking. I've been wandering around with no point of when to stop, I should probably leave, I start heading to the gym doors when I see someone in the middle of the ground. I freeze, it looks like...my brother. I start sprinting to him, when I get over him I realized it's not him but a girl, I sigh with relief and check her pulse, it's stead but her breath is uneven and she's shaking she must be freezing I don't know how long she's been here for (but it doesn't feel very long).
I pick her up on a piggyback and start walking towards the nurses' office (someone would be wondering where she is - probably at least), do girls weigh this much? She seems underweight, she's as heavy as a little boy. I started to remember that day with Yasuo and I went to the park, I started to smile thinking of the good memories...then that one memory came back, my smile dropped and I came back to reality. I get to the nurse's office and head inside. I place her on the bed and start to look for blankets. I check all of the drawers and can't find any. I touch her arm and feel her shiver. I look down at my shirt and jacket. I start to take off

"What did you do to her?" "students reported they saw you hit the girl before bringing her into the nurses' office, explain yourself." the vice principal said, he's always trying to kick me out of the school. Any chance he gets might as well let him do it, I got nothing here to keep anyways.
"I didn't do anything to her, I found her on the ground and brought her to the nurses' office," I can tell by the way he's looking at me, that he doesn't believe me "if you don't believe me, then suspend me, kick me out of the school." I'm done with this school, I want to leave but I don't want my brother to be disappointed in me, I start walking out of the office when I hear the vice principal
"You stop right there Kaori, we aren't done talking!" he's starting to yell for no reason. I look out the glass of the office and see the girl coming, I turn away and lean on the door frame as he keeps yelling at me
"THIS IS WHY YOU ALWAYS GET IN TROUBLE! WHAT DID YOU DO?!" he was screaming now, can this guy give me a break?
"I told you once and I'll say it again, I found the girl lying in the middle of the ground so I brought her to the nurses' office so someone could help her. I did what anyone would do if that's all I'll be leaving." I pivoted my foot and was about to walk away when I heard footsteps behind me.
"COME BACK HERE KAORI!" I turn around and see the Vice Principal's hand with a glass of water which he jolts at me, he's seriously gonna splash me with water
I closed my eyes, I was waiting for my clothes and my skin to go cold. When I opened my eyes someone was in front of me, she had the same hair color as the girl I brought to the nurses' office, and she was wearing my jacket. I looked at the vice principal and he was scared, is this girl that scary?
"Wasn't what Kaori did heroically?" she asked, I can feel her atmosphere. She was mad "he brought me to the nurses' office after finding me in the middle of the hall, and you're saying that's something bad?" I start stepping toward him as he starts to sweat
"No, not at all. I'm glad you're okay," the vice principal said
"Then why would you throw water at my savior?"
"Well, the thing is. There have been students who said they saw Kaori hit you then bring you to the nurses' office, so I was just trying to do my job," she tilted her head and looked at the people standing in front of the office and moved her atmosphere to them.
"So you guys are telling lies to the VP for what reason? I know right now you guys are mad at me, but why are you bringing someone else down?"
"Just leave it, everyone here hates me; the teachers, students, staff, all of them," I said to her, what is her name anyways?
she grabbed the glass that was in the vice principal's hand, I got confused about what she was gonna do with that. When she brought it over his head, I watched the water spill on his head. I was impressed and scared for her. I watch her bring her arm up over her head with the glass and know she's about to throw it out to the ground, I hear the glass shatter piece by piece and look around the room, I see Genki, was he walking with her? I hear all of the whisperings to each other as she starts to shake in front of me, I gotta do something to get people's attention off of her. I walk back inside the office, grab a vase and see everyone is still looking at her, I bring my hand up and throw a vase of water to the ground. I looked at the vice principal with dead eyes.
"Are we done here?" I asked, I started walking towards the door but stopped in front of her, and bent down whispering "thank you for standing up for me" I smirked when I walked past her my smirk dropped and I went to my resting face.
As I walk past I see Yasuo trying to break through the crowd, I look back, is he friends with her too? I turn back and keep walking towards the front doors and leave. I'm glad Yasuo is still okay, I haven't seen him in a while.
