Ever since the incident with the vice principal Kaori has been coming to lunch with us and talking to me in class, but things still haven't cleared up between Yasuo and Kaori yet. When Yasuo told me about his past, it honestly shocked me. I never would have thought that Kaori bullied Yasuo after they stopped being friends and that Yasuo had to move school (we have that in common). I haven't talked to Kaori about his past, I feel like it would bring up a whole new fight. I found out that Kaori is in my Japanese and English class (I've never seen him in class this whole school year until after I became friends with him), he's a really funny guy, he may be scary on the outside but he's kinda like a big teddy bear. The jacket he gave me, it's in my closet and I can't touch other clothes (I don't want it to get damaged or anything). We talk on the phone all the time ever since I left him that letter. Today is Saturday, yesterday I had my last appointment to see if I still have a concussion, the doctor told me I was perfectly fine. I've been too excited to tell the guys, I was thinking about having the guys over or going out, it's a nice sunny day so I may just invite them over for some watermelon.
I make group chats with everyone (Yasuo, Kenji, Kaori, Genki), I'm not as close with Kenji but he's always with Genki so he normally stays quiet and plays his games all the time (which is fine).

Atsuko - Hey guys! Today is a nice day and I was wondering if you guys want to have some watermelon with me? We can do more things later as well if you guys want :)

Genki - Yeah I'm down, I'll head over right now! Don't eat all the watermelon before I get there :)

Kenji - I just bought a new game so I won't be coming for another hour or two, after I'm finished I'll come over

Atsuko - Alright that's fine, I'll make sure to save you a slice Kenji

Yauso - Sorry I just woke up, we're supposed to go to Atusko's? Alright, I'll come over to

Kaori - I'm going to the donut shop, I'll bring a couple extra for you

Atsuko - BRING ME A STRAWBERRY, PLEASE!

Kaori - Sure thing (I guess, only if they have one)

I head downstairs and see my father cutting the watermelon, I walk into the kitchen and grab a knife and watermelon and start cutting
"It's alright honey, I can do that,"
"I'm having company over, so it's the lease I can do," my father jumped (is he that surprised?)
"IS IT A GIRL OR GUY!?" he's yelling, "COME ON I NEED DETAILS! WHO ARE THEY!?" he's so loud
"WHAT?!" Oh no, "ATSUKO IS HAVING COMPANY OVER?!" my dad's girlfriend says, she ran to the kitchen to get into the conversation
"Can you two relax? You're hurting my ears with all this yelling," I tell them, I pick up my knife and start chopping off the green skin of the watermelon
"Alright, alright. We're calm, now tell us details," my father asked
"Yasuo, Genki and Kaori will be coming over, Kenji's come over in about an hour or two the others are coming over for watermelon," I tell them, my father's eyes light up with stars
"Who's Kaori and Kenji?" my father kind of yells, I can't tell him the truth or he'll find out what happened at school and may transfer me
"He's in my Japanese and English class, he looks mean but he's a big softy," I tell them, I'm almost done cutting the watermelon as our front door opens. My father looks at me with confusion, the same as his girlfriend. My father and I head towards the door (with the knife in his hand from cutting the watermelon), I hear shoes come off and fly to the wall
"Whoops, sorry guys. My shoe just flew off," you have got to be kidding me
"Genki?" I say to the person that I hope is Genki, I see a guy's shadow coming towards us and get my knife prepared
"Of course, it's me, who else would walk into your house if I wasn't close friends with you Atsuko," He came out of the blindspot, it was Genki, this dude almost have me a heart attack
"Next time can you text me that you're here?" I tell him while I walk back to the kitchen to finish cutting the watermelon
"Sure thing, but I won't be making any promises. You never know, I may just come out of the window one day," Geni says, '' is gonna break an entry?
"Make yourself at home, I just gotta finish cutting this watermelon," I tell him, I don't pay attention or where he's going (because I don't want to cut my hand)
I finish cutting the watermelon and put it in plastic containers, I look out to the living room and don't see Genki, where did he go?
"Genki?" I say, no response. Someone knocks on the door, I head towards the door and open it to see Yasuo and Kaori arriving at the same time. Yasuo didn't look happy but he had something in his hand, was it for me?
"I brought donuts," Kaori said, I smiled, I took Yasuo's hand and pulled him inside
"Welcome!" I say in a cheerful voice
"Genki, they're here!" I yell inside the house, I let go of Yasuo's hand and head inside the house and look for Genki
He's not in the living room, not in the basement, where the hell is he? I start to hear mutters upstairs, I look back down to Yasuo and Kaori who're confused about what I'm doing.
"Make yourselves at home, I'm going to deal with a slight problem," I start walking up the stairs and head to my room as I see my father leaning on the door frame talking to someone inside my room, I know exactly who it is
"Genki...Get out of my room now," I stood beside my father, which made him jump. It was like I was medusa and froze him into a sculpture. I looked at Genki as he was touching my manga shelf, he didn't look at that one right? (don't think this is something dirty, I'm creating my manga and haven't told anyone yet)
"You have an amazing manga shelf, could I borrow some of them?" He asks me, he looks back at me shooting me with a flashy smile, damn it, I can't say no
"That's fine but you have to go downstairs, please," I ask him, he starts walking towards me, but stops, I look behind me and see Yasuo and Kaori behind me
"What's the hold-up? I brought you donuts," Kaori says, he's looking into my room and sees Genki "what are you doing in her room?" he asked Genki (don't say they're gonna fight over this, right?)
"Her father asked me to follow him, so I did," Genki said, shrugging his shoulders as he spoke,
"Do you mind if I come in and look at your shelf?" Yasuo asked me, he's never asked for anything until now
"Of course," I tell him, he still has the bag in his hand (I'm so curious what it is), "Kaori, you can come in as well. I can go grab the watermelon and donuts and bring them up here,"
"Then sorry for the intrusion," he says, Yasuo walks in first then Kaori. I lean on the door frame as my father did, and they start joking around and start laughing together. I'm glad to be friends with them.
"Atsuko, can I talk to you?" my father asks me (he's down the stairs but doesn't yell too loudly to make the others curious), I walk down the stairs and head to the kitchen where my father is holding the plate with watermelon slices
"What did you want to talk about?" I ask him
"Your birthday is coming up right?" he asked, I nod my head "Do you want to do anything in particular on that day?" he asks
"Can I take the day off school?" I ask
"We'll talk about that one later, how about any place in mind?" he asks
"I was thinking about going to mom's grave, celebrating with her a bit," I tell him
"I thought you would say something like that," my father chuckled "how about this, I give you tickets for you and your friends to go to an amusement park?" he said, my eyes lit up with excitement "I'll take that as a yes," he smiled and starts to push me up the stairs.
I get back upstairs and see they're still in the same atmosphere as I left, I sit down between Genki and Kaori and see Yasuo reading one of the manga from my shelf (most of them on my shelf are romance, is he into romance too?). Kenji finally made it to the 'party' and we all had fun, we played video games and listened to music. My father's girlfriend heard everything that was going around, I felt like she was gonna kick us out but she joined in on the fun first. We ate all the watermelon but there was some extra donut, Kaori had left first, and he let me take what fonts were left, not long after Genki and Kenji left together, they needed to study for their test tomorrow, Yasuo was left, we didn't talk just played video games the whole time. We played about two rounds before he finally said that he had to leave. We went to the front doors and he suddenly turned around and put the bag in front of me. I grab it and open it, and see the next volume of one of the manga I brought to school. I don't have the next volume yet, but I was gonna buy it tomorrow. I'm about to cry, but I keep it in.
"Thank you Yasuo," I told him. I reach my arms out and start going in guess we aren't that close. I guess I was wrong, I'm disappointed. I put my arms down as he grabs the doorknob, but he turns around quickly and hugs me, lifting me off my feet and into the air.
He's so warm and feels like he won't let me go anytime soon.
"Thank you for having me over, I'll be sure to come over more often," he tells me, he squeezes tighter than places me on the ground, and walks out.
I chuckled as the door shut, I looked up and saw him smiling. He was so warm, like the dreams I had. He's really cute. Mom, would you like to meet them?
