Y/n's POV -

It had been around 6 weeks since Kira started her training, and she's actually improved a lot. To be honest, I had my doubts with her, but she will make a very good Spirit pillar once I retire. 

I love my job as a Hashira. Saving people, making them feel safe and happy is the best thing I could hope for. However, I know that my time on this earth will be cut short. My sickness has been getting worse by the day, but telling people that would just burden them. 

Kira's POV - 

Kira: Mai!!!! 

... 

Kira: MAI!!! 

... 

I don't get what the deal is with Mai. It's as if I stole his favorite toy. I have absolutely no idea why he is like this to me, Lady Y/n is nothing like him. 

Kira: MAIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Mai: WHAT IS IT NOW!? 

Finally, he answered me. 

Kira: Lady Y/n wants to see you. 

His face turned as red as a tomato. Every time he does one thing wrong to Lady Y/n, it takes the both of us to stop him from jumping off a cliff. I'm starting to think he has a little crush on her, which is both gross and cute at the same time. 

Mai's POV - 

I can't believe I ignored the call of Lady Y/n. What good am I if I can't even use my ears properly? She probably is going to fire me, than kick me out onto the street- 

Y/n: Mai, Where are you going? 

I stop directly in my tracks. My biggest fear is happening right at this moment. 

Mai: I- uh - I was going to see you! I was heading to your bedroom. 

I turned around with lightning speed and bowed. She chuckled and smiled at me. Lady Y/n has the prettiest smile. 

Y/n: Why don't we head to my study? 

Mai: Yes, of course! 

She starts walking and I follow close behind her. We reach her study and we sit down. Lady Y/n was always so amazing at decorating things. She really is so- 

Y/n: Mai, are you daydreaming again? 

Mai: No! No! No! I was just admiring your office is all. 

I rub the back of my head, I can't even talk right. I'm so useless, and Lady Y/n hates me, and the world hates me, and I'm going to die alone and- 

Y/n: Mai! Are you listening? 

Mai: Y- yes Lady Y/n. 

She smiled at me again, than pulled out a piece of paper and a quill. 

Y/n: I would like you to help me write a letter to Tengen. Do you think you could to that for me? 

I was surprised that she would ask me of all people to do this, but lately she has been quite sad because of the absence of Mr. Tengen, so I was going to put my best effort into this letter.
