Third Person POV -
Kira sat there in the pouring rain , all sorts of thoughts eating her brain, Muzan's hand still around Kira's neck.
"That's just wonderful!" Muzan said in a rather chipper way. "I knew you would pull through."
"What do you mean?" Kira asked. She already accepted his help - she really didn't want any theatrics.
"I keep a close eye on potential... candidates for my line of work." He said, digging his nails softly into her neck.
Kira was sure she wanted to help. She give anything to live her life exactly the way it was been for the past months. But was this the way to do it?
Muzan? Where has she heard the name Muzan before? Kira thought back to all the lessons she had with Lady Y/n and Mai...
Flashback...
"And so, the demon slayer core is dedicated to purging the world from the horrid monsters that are demons." Mai explained, pointing a stick at a detailed list of everything about the demon slayer core. Kira was on the brink of dying from boredom. How could Lady Y/n make something sound so cool, and Mai could just ruin it?
"You lower level people mostly kill baby demons. Really easy, as the don't have much battle experience." Mai continued.
"Um, excuse me?" Kira said. "I will NEVER kill a baby. That's just cruel. And ALSO, I am no lower level fighter. I could beat your ass in a second." She said as she crossed her arms.
"Kira, that terrible and unattractive attitude is exactly why you are a lower level."
"Why you little -"
"Children!" Lady Y/n shouted , raising her hand in the air the silence them. "What have I told you about violence towards each other?"
Mai and Kira sighed. "Only showcase violence to a fellow demon slayer while training , during Christmas and if they turn into a demon." The said in unison.
"Lady Y/n, have you ever thought about shortening your sayings?" Kira asked.
"Not really , this way I can have no grey areas." Lady Y/n said.
"EHEM!" Mai exclaimed. "Can I continue my lesson?"
The girls both nodded, and Kira shout Mai a nasty look before he continued.
"Now, all demon slayers are working towards a common goal - defeat Muzan."
"What kind of dumb name is that?" Kira chuckled at the seemingly ridiculous name.
"He is the great demon lord, leader of all demons." Mai explained. He has had with Kira interrupting him.
"The demon slayers goal is the kill him. Get rid of the brain , you can easily destroy the body."
End of flashback...
"Well Kira, are you ready?" Muzan asked, digging his nails even harder into her neck.
Instead of responding , Kira pushed Muzan back, wiping the dripping blood from her neck. She drew her sword, ready to face him.
"Aw, what a pity. And here I thought you were special." Muzan said disappointedly. "Do you not want to save your Lady?"
The cuts on Kira's neck began to burn , making her dizzy.
"This isn't the way! Lady Y/n would never forgive me If I took help from a monster like you!" Kira shouted, charging towards him. But suddenly , she stopped in her tracks , dropping to her knees.
"You know Kira, you did well for someone so weak." Muzan said, grabbing her face and looking her in the eyes.
"What.. what did you do to me?.." She was slowly fading, but Kira desperately held onto whatever she had left.
"Just a basic blood poisoning. I was worried you would end up resisting my help , so I decided to act in advance. You can't blame me for covering my tracks." Muzan picked Kira up by her face, tossing her away like trash.
"If you have a final message you would like to pass along, I promise I will tell Y/n as soon as I get the chance." Muzan said, smiling devilishly.
Kira lied on the muddy floor. It took a minute, but she finally accepted she wasn't going to be able to help Y/n after all.
"Your name is fucking ugly." Kira whispered, as she slowly faded away.
"KIRA!" A voice shouted.
Kira turned her head to see Mai , Y/n and Tengen. She smiled , happy with her life , happy with herself , and happy that the last thing she saw were people she loved.
