Fall of 2016
BTS Studio

The boy group who had been raising to fame both in their country and internationally had already started to work on their new album that would release in winter of that year.

Jungkook wanted to do the final touches in his first solo song 'Begin'. So even though it was late at night, he was still in the studio, editing his song with an unexpected visitor, who happened to be his girlfriend, sitting behind him.

Dami was waiting for two straight hours for Jungkook to finish his work so that they could spend a little time together. But it did not seem to end anytime soon.

Being frustrated, she walked to her boyfriend and sat on his thighs before wrapping her arms around his neck. Sniffing in Jungkook's cologne, Dami snuggled into his neck.

Jungkook's focus was still on the computer. "Who made my baby upset?" He tried to cheer her up a little since she definitely did not seem to be in an uplifted mood. "Bring him here who did it!"

"You," Dami's voice came out muffled. "You made me upset." She backed up a little to see his face. The female talked in a pout, "I want attention." Jungkook could not help smiling at her cuteness.

"I am sorry." He kissed the top of her head. "What can I do to make it better?" Dami looked elsewhere. "I don't know. Come up with something on your own."

Jungkook tapped his cheek with his index finger, pretending to think. "Idea!" He inched closer to her face. His lips twitched upwards into a mischievous smirk. "Wanna do it here?"

Dami deeply scoffed. "You were supposed to think of doing something to make me feel good, not yourself." Jungkook snickered. "Don't lie. You know you like it too."

The female stood up. "Seriously Jungkook―don't you have any better idea to apologize to me?"

Spring of 2022
Incheon

Dami slowly removed the curtain, yawning from still being sleepy only to drape the windows again. It's probably gonna rain today. The sky was gloomy, wrapping itself in a grey sheet.

The brunette rubbed her nose, already getting close to catch cold. She tied her robe tightly around the waist before making her way into the kitchen. After letting out another yawn, Dami started preparing to make coffee.

But the ground coffee were nowhere to be found. She thought about giving up and have instant coffee for once. My coffee tastes like feet, anyway. Just then, her eyes fell on the top shelf.

But it was out of her reach. Still the female stood on her tiptoes, stretched her arm as far as she could to pull open the cabinet on the top.

"You know how genies come in fun Jungkook size these days?"

A large arm came into Dami's sight out of nowhere, making her feel overwhelmed about the size difference and opened the cabinet, before taking the pack of ground coffee out.

"Is this what you want?" Jungkook shook the pack, making the ground coffee beans jiggle inside. Dami rolled her eyes at him. "Don't act all mighty when you were the one who put it there."

"Now that's not how you behave with someone who just helped you, princess."

Dami snatched the pack out of his hand. "What do you want?" Her tone had a clear hint of frustration in it.

Jungkook glanced sideways. It was something he had done a lot when they used to date each other. He bit his bottom lip, warning himself to not mess it up. It's my fault since the beginning.

"About yesterday," the off-white tiled kitchen and the vague scent of the air just before rain―everything was so nostalgic to them for no special reason. Lately they both felt it even while just talking to each other. They could not deny that they missed this feeling.

"I overreacted―saying things I never should have. I'm sorry."

Dami looked up into his dark brown orbs. His eyelashes shadowed over his eyes and eyebrows were knitted together, letting her know that he was being genuine. She could not say anything. This was the Jungkook she knew.

"As an apology, let me teach you how to make latte." Jungkook quickly tried to change the atmosphere and forcefully drive away the fuzzy feeling he was surrounded with, just by staring into his once favourite eyes―her eyes—hazel coloured with a tint of honey gold.

"What?" Dami's voice came out squeaky. "Geez―I know how to make a cup of coffee. So give it a rest, will ya?"

Jungkook tilted his head to the side. A cocky smile took place on his lips as he lifted one eyebrow in amusement. "Are you sure?"

"Yes," the female coughed, "So now if you will please excuse me."

Jungkook let out a soft chuckle. "Taehyung hyung told me that you don't know how to make coffee and still drink your bad tasted one."

"Why do I have siblings?" Dami cried out getting a few more laughs out of Jungkook.

Jungkook, having his first apprentice as a barista, asked her to first make him taste  her americano. "Wow," he exclaimed after taking the first sip. "You suck."

Dami's face fell within a second. Even after having second thoughts on whether she wanted to go through this inferno of listening to Jungkook's rebukes just for learning to make coffee, she stayed.

After a good one and a half hour, Jungkook plopped down on the couch in front of the kitchen while Dami was applying what she had learnt. Despite being scared to death, the apprentice took the first sip of her fresh latte.

Her eyes widened, not being able to believe the fact that she made it. "How is it?" Jungkook asked, still sitting there. "It's so good! I can't believe I made it myself," Dami bounced on her spot a few times.

A smile, too, crept up on Jungkook's lips, seeing how happy Dami was by such a little thing.

See, now I know how to apologize.

It was about Jungkook who was immature before, not knowing clearly how to date. As time passed, he learnt. But now it's of no use since he doesn't have Dami anymore.
