Scaramouche ran a hand through his hair thoughtfully.

The ride to Inazuma was merciless, crowded with storm clouds and harsh winds with the occasional lightning strikes.

Ah, yes. Just how he remembered it.

Inazuma hadn't changed much since he'd left. It still retained its same brilliant sky, along with its bustling town of busy people.

Scaramouche enjoyed peace and quiet, which made his hatred for the big city worsen with every second. He hadn't even arrived a day ago and he was already irritated with the drunken idiots fumbling around the street corners.

The ride back to Liyue was often the same. Though, the unfortunate whether only lingered around the island of Inazuma, never in.

Nevertheless, Scaramouche was glad to be off that damned boat and was ready to find the only woman that had been on his mind for the last three years.

Scaramouche was hopeful that Childe hadn't found her first, or, found her at all.

He may have been a little desperate. He'd admit to a little. But then again, it was for good reason.

Scaramouche wanted her all to himself, forever.

He sighed to himself agitatedly, treading around town.

Scaramouche had been scouring the city since the minute he got there. With no apparent luck might he add.

Despite knowing he'd been there for less than a day, he was already becoming far to frustrated for his liking.

His brain racked through potential areas she could be hiding- well, potential areas she could be living in. Not that the minor difference mattered, she was still away from him and that was an issue.

Scaramouche twitched with agitation, cracking his knuckles and started off into a new direction.

This was going to be a long day.

Sitting Childe down at the nearest table, I felt my heart race against my chest painfully.

I didn't want Thoma getting the wrong idea, or just- being upset with me. It hurt my soul to see that boy frown.

How did everything seem to go to shit so quickly- I mean, it'd been 10 minutes since I ran into that ball of energy!

I gave Childe a narrowed look, hoping that he could sense my discomfort.

-

Childe did indeed, sense her discomfort, which amused him in the slightest, but decided it best not to get on her nerves immediately after making amends with her.

He took a deep breath and sent Y/n a calm nod, preparing himself to make conversation with this newfound enemy.

Well- Thoma wasn't necessarily his enemy, but he definitely was a rival.

Actually, could he even call Thoma a rival? Y/n clearly had no interest in him.

Acquaintance. He would call Thoma an acquaintance. For now.

-

"So Thoma," Childe waved over the confused boy. "How did you and Y/n meet?" He asked curiously.

Oh, my fucking archons, he was going to make this so much worse than it already was.

Thoma eyed him wearily, "we met through Beidou," his voice sounded speculator like, "if you know who that is."

"I'm afraid I don't," Childe replied rather genuinely.
