You know what makes human beings superior? Pretense. The ability to pretend. The skill to act like something when you feel/think something else.
That makes us superior. Because we can fool people. We can fool other animals. We can even fool ourselves.
We pretend to be in love. Pretend to be out of love. Pretend to be happy. To be sad.
We pretend to care. We pretend we don't.
