A ringing sound was hear from the other end of the line. A somber feeling filled the house, as I leaned against the wall for support. He left and all I had left of him were our kids. A bullet to the heart, was what the surgeon said.

"Hello?" A groan came from the line. I took a moment, not knowing how to phrase it. I heard another hello from the other line, I took a deep breath before replying.

"Dad..." I whispered, controlling all shakiness left over, " Do you think I can come over maybe sometime tomorrow?" I said as calmly as I could, body still trembling with slight fatigue. Why him? Why a man that has done nothing, but try to make this world better? A tear slid down my cheek as I closed my eyes.

"Is everything okay?" No. No it isn't, nothing is okay! Everything is going through shit. But I can tell that to my dad. I also can't lie to him, because no matter what, I know I could never hide anything from dad.

I coughed, and with a shaky breath, "Logan died in action." There. I said. I've finally said it. Yet, I'm still holding on to that the body they brought back to me, wasn't his. It was just my mind playing a cruel twisted joke on me. I shook my head to rid myself of the thoughts popping through my head. The line had gone silent, but I could still hear his breathing so I continued,

"The kids aren't doing too good, we're pushing through, but it's hard. I just want to take them far away. Help them heal. Help me heal." I say, wiping at my eyes to prevent the tears from falling. I choked back a sob as I whispered, "I just really need my dad. Papa, it hurts so much."

"Come home soon. I got you. I'll see you when you get here. " Was all he said before we hung up.

"Mommy, you're coming back, right?" Jamie and Rini mumbled out

"Mommy, you're coming back, right?" Jamie and Rini mumbled out. I knew with the news of their father, they were afraid that they will lose me too, but that is never going to happen. I knelt down to get to their eye level.

"Yes. Now give momma a kiss." They pounced on me, slobbering with kisses, and as soon as they got off me Stella hugged me as tightly as she could.

"Be careful mom." She mumbled through my shirt. I held on tightly to her, because I knew just how much more this affected her. She was daddy's little girl. Stella was born, due to odd circumstances when I was much younger. Logan, came along later on, and from the moment they met, they became a family. She's always known that Logan wasn't her biological father, but she loved him as if he was, because to her, he was an amazing hero that, accepted her mother and accepted her.

"I will baby girl." I whispered into her ear, using the nickname Logan and I gave her as soon as the twins were born. God, to think she didn't want to be a big sister because she thought she was going to be replaced, but now she takes everything in strides. She makes me so proud. Pulling myself away from her, I stood up as I head outside.

"Bye Mom!" They chorused as I walked to one of my cars. A sleek, black 60's mustang originally owned by my grandfather, but given to me as a gift. "Behave for Mrs. Teta!" I shouted, waving goodbye as I got in the car.
