I sighed glancing at a picture of the family together

I sighed glancing at a picture of the family together. We were at a sanctuary for horses, it was a day filled with excitement over learning something new. Smiling slightly I walked into the living room, it's been two months since moving back to Washington and the kids were adapting well. That was all I could hope for. Luckily, today was a Saturday, which meant no school, and it was great time to do something fun.

"Mocosos! Let's go visit Tio Billy, and if we are lucky, we might even get to wake up your Uncle Jake." I sang last part, a smirk crawling it's way onto my face as I saw the excitement in their eyes, as their brains worked together to devise a plan of torture. Yup, definitely my kids. We pulled on our jackets and left the house.

Since we moved into a house hidden in the wood, right in the middle of the treaty line, we walked over to Billy's house. Along the way, we picked at flowers, collected rocks, and even spotted a doe. Arriving ten minutes later, I lifted the pot where they kept the spare key, grabbed, and then proceeded to unlock the door. I motion for the kids to be quiet as I checked the surroundings, the coast was clear. I gathered them around me as I knelt down.

"Okay, Uncle Billy doesn't seem to be awake right now, we're going to let him sleep, but that doesn't mean we're going to let Tio Jacob sleep. So... do what you have to with Jacob, and I'll get started on some huevos con chorizo." I smiled at them as they grinned back at me.

I headed into the kitchen and began to prep the food for the six of us. I was glad that they had everything I needed for the breakfast I had planned, or else I was afraid I would have to improvise. After a good fifteen minutes of silence, I heard it. The scream of a scarred teenage boy. It was soon followed by the sound of a wheelchair, I looked up at the doorway to see Uncle Billy.

"Hola tio!" I walked over to him to give him a kiss on the cheek. "I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to stop by and have some breakfast with you, Jacob and the kids. I made some huevos con chorizo." I say as I go back to setting the table. I notice from the corner of my eye, he wheels himself closer, just as I finish setting the tortilla warm on the table.

"Hey, no problem at all, I'm just afraid to learn what your kids did to Jake." He says, just as stomping could be heard across the hall. Well, we're about to find out. We turned to look back to the entrance of the kitchen, just to see Jake soaked from the top of his head, all the way down to his toes. Everyone just stood there quietly, as Jacob fumed, but then Billy and I broke out in laughter.

"Jake, I didn't know you liked to go out for a morning swim with Spider-Man briefs." I snorted as the kids ran past him to go sit down. He glared at me, his face going pink from embarrassment, as his hand moved down to cover his nether region. "You did this." He hissed.

"On the contrary Jake, I birthed the kids that did this to you. Now, why don't you go put on something dry, because I just fixed up breakfast, and I'm ready to eat."

"

"That was delicious! Thank you for the breakfast Ana." Billy says as Jacob takes everyone's plate to the sink. "Hey, it's no problem! Anything for my favorite tio." I got up to help Jake wash the dishes. Listening closely to the children asking about the legends of the tribe. I smiled. Which seems to be something I'm doing a lot now.

"How have you been Ana? With the kids and everything?" Jake whispers to me. I looked at him as I hand a dish to dry. I took a minute to really think about it. How have I been? I have all this support from my family and friends, and I have the love of my children, but I've been keeping myself busy. Trying not to think about my situation completely. So how do I answer such a simple, yet dreadful question.

"I've been dealing with it like any Hispanic woman does, by keeping my house clean, cooking like the world is coming to an end, and making sure my kids move on, while still being able to remember their father. Don't you worry about me Jake. I've dealt with worst things, and let me tell you, knowing that my husband threw himself onto that grenade so that the rest of his team can get out alive, it's something I'm proud of him for. Plus, all seriousness aside, he did say he always wanted to go out with a bang." He looked at my with an astounded face. "Did you just make a pun out of your husband's death?" I looked at him and nodded.

"Fucking psycho." He muttered underneath his breath, just as he put away the last dish.

"Well I think we should go out and have some fun! How bout it boys want to join?" I asked after a moment of idle chatter. I looked around hoping they would want to spend the day with us.

"Well I can't Ana, but I know Jake can. Just bring him back by ten." Billy ordered. I stood pin straight bringing my right hand towards my forehead as I saluted.

"Sir yes, sir! JACOB E. BLACK IT IS PRECISELY 13:22 WE HAVE EXACTLY EIGHT HOURS and THIRTY- EIGHT MINUTES TO HAVE SOME FUN!" I shouted in the best drill sergeant impersonation. Jake straightened up and played along with me.

"M'am. Yes. M'am!" he saluted as he went to get ready. Forty-five minutes later we were at the beach play catch and taking breaks to play in the water as well. After an hour of playing we drove to a small fast food place to get some food where we spent an hour and thirty minutes talking and eating. We then head back to the beach getting there in forty-six minutes and went back to our spot setting up again, which took a hell of a lot of time considering we were still full. I say we took about fifty minutes to finish setting up and twenty-five minutes of lazing about. We soon went back to playing with a Frisbee instead of just getting in the water. We must of played for about an hour until Jake threw too far and into the wood.

"Way to go Jake!" I shouted as I jogged after it. As I looked around for the Frisbee, I felt as if I was being stared at. I looked around me to see if anyone was there, only to find the myself surrounded by eerily still trees and bushes. I found the Frisbee and jogged out of the wood.

"Jacob, next time you're getting the Frisbee, because I swear I felt someone staring at me, and if it was a ghost, I am in no mood to get haunted!" I shouted still feeling eyes on me.

"FINE!" He shouted back. 'Stupid wood' I muttered inside my head.

A/N: Hello and here is the third chapter, edited, it took a while. I wasn't sure if I should have the chapter as it was, but as you can see, I didn't it. I have left some of the original dialogue, and once I'm finished editing, I'm thinking of publishing another story. I'll let y'all know what I'm thinking later on. Hope you enjoyed. Let me know what you thought about it.
