"Ok, lover boy, how does it feel to finally have a girlfriend?" Vanessa asks Finral as he comes back from his daily visit at Melody's side.

"Amazing," he replies, falling onto the sofa.

"So you're not going to deny it?"

"Why would I?"

"So you're official now?"

"I guess. We're going out to dinner when she gets released."

"Wow, you're actually going places Finral, I'm impressed."

"You don't have to say it like that!"

"No, but seriously when was the last time you flirted with a girl?"

"I don't know…. A while ago?"

"Exactly ever since Melody joined the squad you've changed. Now let's talk about those nicknames…"

"What's there to talk about?"

"What do they mean?"

"Well she calls me cinnamon roll, because they're, and I quote, 'cute and sweet just like you'."

"Why do you call her little bomb?"

"She has to explain that to you in her own time."

Over the next few days Finral continues to visit Melody in the healing tower every day. It's that time of day and Finral had just arrived when Doctor Owen comes in, an astounded look on his face.

"Melody?" Owen asks, looking down at his clipboard.
"I have some news," he says, looking up from his clipboard and seeing Finral for the first time.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to speak to the patient alone,"

"It's fine, doctor Owen, I'll tell him right away when he comes back in, so you might as well tell the both of us now."

"If you insist," the doctor sighs and closes the door.
"You may recall when you first got admitted that we said you'd have to stay here for a few months. But after analysing the tests that came back, you might be released within the week."

"That's great! Does this mean I'll start physical therapy soon?"

"I'm not sure if you'll need it. Try and walk over to me," the doctor commands.

Melody swings her legs over the side of the bed and walks over to Owen with apparent ease.

"How was that?"

"Well it hurt a little as I got up, but when I started walking I was fine."

"You don't need full physical therapy, but you should practice walking, so that your feet don't hurt every time you get up. Here's my proposition: for the next few meals walk down to the cafeteria yourself. Go down for lunch and dinner, maybe breakfast tomorrow, I'll come see you again tomorrow and you might be able to leave by tomorrow afternoon, if all goes well."

"Will do, doc!"

About an hour later Finral leaves and leaves Melody alone on her bed.

I've still got an hour to waste before lunch, what do I do…. I could just wander around the hospital a little, I don't see anything wrong with that. I am meant to do that.

Determined, the flower-mage gets out of her bed and exits the room. She begins to wander the halls, and eventually she wants to go back to her room, so she tries to retrace her footsteps. Realising she was lost, she decides to go to the cafeteria.

It's almost time for lunch and I know the way back from there, it's foolproof.

After walking for maybe half an hour, following the hospital signs, Melody finally makes it to the cafeteria. She orders a croissant and a hot chocolate. When she's finished she walks back up to her room.

Great. I'm still stuck here for 24 hours.

*Timeskip to Melody's release*

"Vanessa? I thought Finral was picking me up."

"Yeah, well he still had to sort out a few things for the date tonight," Vanessa explains, eyes sparkling.

"So why are you here?"

"Well, I had a little peek in your closet and found that you have barely any dresses, so I'm here to help you find one!"

"I'll just wear my jumpsuit, it's only for a date."

"Wrong! It's the first date, so the most important one, you've got to look your best. Now hurry up, Aran's waiting."

"You should've led with that," Melody mumbles, getting onto the broom.

"Well, I've thought of five shops to go to and I'm sure I'll think of more on the way."

"Five?!"

"Yeah exactly, it's barely anything."

"Huh, I thought Aran would be here already," Vanessa says, dismounting from her broom.
"Oh well, I guess we'll get started already."

They walk into the first shop and Melody looks around at her options.

"Vanessa, these are all ball gowns."

"So?"

"We're not going to a ball!" Melody says, gesticulating wildly.

"You don't know that."

"I do, I know we're going out to eat."

"And where, may I ask? I just had to strike three of the other shops."

"I don't know. Someplace called The Silvamillion Prince."

"Damn, that place is fancy, but I can work with that! Come on, we've got to move."

They enter the next shop to see Aran frantically combing through a rack of dresses. When he hears the shop bell ring his head snaps up and a look of elation spreads across it.

"Melody! What size are you, but in letters?"

"Uhh...medium," she replies, surprised at the question.

"Is that M?"

"No it's XL," Melody teases.

"Oh haha, anyway I think I found one that you might actually like. It has the same colour scheme as your jumpsuit."

He pulls a dress from the rack and holds it up. It's a beautiful shade of pink and will fall to Melody's knees once she's wearing it. The waistband and wristbands are a little more purple. The opaque sleeves connect to the also opaque neckline which has lace finings the same colour as the wristbands.

"Oh that's perfect!" Vanessa decides, clasping her hands together.
"I saw some shoes in one of the windows on the way here that would go perfectly with this."

"Well if you'll excuse me I'll go try this on."

A few minutes later Melody emerges from the changing room.
"I like this one."

"It suits you! Now let's get those shoes, we have to go if we want to get you ready in time."

"The date's in three hours?"

"Exactly!"
