*3rd Person POV*

"Okay, I'm off!" Melody calls out to anyone who's listening.

A few farewells find their way back to her as she steps onto the lush grass in front of the base. She arranges her sack on the broom and is about to mount it when Finral calls out from behind her.

"Hang on! I've got something for you."

Melody turns and examines her boyfriend for any hint of what it could be.

"Nothing extravagant, just something small to wish you good luck."

Finral pulls a small box out of his pocket and hands it over. Melody takes the box and opens it, curiously. Inside is a silver bracelet with a purple tulip as a pendant.

"You remembered!" Melody says, overjoyed.

"Well, to be honest I wasn't too sure about it, but when I was in your room the other day I saw how you still have those tulips from the theatre."

"Thank you, I'll never take it off," Melody says, sliding it on.
"Quick peck before I leave?"

"Gladly."

They exchange a sweet kiss before Melody mounts her broom and kicks off, a forlorn look on her face.

"Goodbye, cinnamon roll," she says once she's in the air.

"Bye, everything will be okay!"

Elizabeth's house hadn't changed much over the years. It's mostly the same old mansion which Melody grew up in for the past twelve years of her life, except that Elizabeth actually got a paint job and the façade wasn't crumbling anymore. Elizabeth is waiting on the porch in one of her usual floor length, column dresses. This one is emerald green with gold trimmings and the sleeves poof slightly at the shoulders. As Melody came into hearing distance of her aunt the first thing she says is:

"I see you finally got the walls fixed, I almost didn't recognize the place."

"It was vintage chic!" Elizabeth protests, looking her niece up and down.
"I see that you're still refusing to dress appropriately…. Oh my! Is that a Black Bulls robe?"

"Yes?"

"I thought you'd at least get into the Coral Peacocks, maybe the Golden Dawn if you were lucky, but you, a noblewoman, got stuck in the Black Bulls," Elizabeth starts a tangent on which squads would and would not be suitable for Melody.

"I chose to go to the Black Bulls, Liz!" Melody yells, interrupting her aunt and ending her little tangent.

Elizabeth looks shocked before fading over into disappointment and then into a clearly fake smile.

"Anyway, we've much to discuss, come on now."

Melody props her broom against the bannister and climbs the steps to her aunt who ushers her through the front door. The inside is just how she remembers it. A long corridor, panelled with dark oak, darkening the room greatly, leading to an abundance of candles lining the walls. It has about five doors on either side and a grand staircase leading to the upper floor at the opposite end of the hallway. By taking the second door on the left, they enter into a small parlour with cups of tea set up on the table. Melody sits down in one of the armchairs next to the table, picks up her tea elegantly and takes a sip with perfect poise.

"You have such good manners! If only you'd stop wearing such manly clothes you mi-"

"Apologies for the interruption, but how is a jumpsuit manly? Men don't wear jumpsuits. Jumpsuits aren't on offer in men's clothes shops."

"That's a fair point, but what I meant is proper ladies shouldn't wear anything with two leg holes!"

"I know. You just have to get over the fact that I'm most comfortable where I am now! I wish I was never born into this family! I wish I was never cursed! The only thing I like about my whole life so far were my parents and my new family: the Black Bulls!"

Melody slams her cup onto the table, causing the liquid inside to slosh around a little and her bracelet, which had been hidden up her sleeve so far, to fall into view.

"Oh that's lovely! Where did you get it?"

"It was a gift from my boyfriend," Melody answers.

"Boyfriend?" A look of hope shimmers in Elizabeth's eyes.
"Who is it?"

"Finral, you may know him?"

Elizabeth almost spits out her tea.
"Finral? As in Finral Vaude? The outcast??"

"Well actually it's Roulacase now. He took the maiden name of his mother when he left."

Although she's still reeling from the shock of that statement Elizabeth pushes herself through the next sentence:
"It doesn't matter. I've found someone better," she says, confidently although her voice is shaking.
"You can come out now!" She calls in the direction of one of the side doors.

The door opens and a look of horror fills Melody's eyes when she sees who it is.

"Melody, meet your fiancé."
