"You're from Clover?" Finral gapes.
"How long have you been here?"

"I'm not sure, maybe two years. Anyway we need a plan if we're going to save your friend."

"Is it okay if I make a call? There are a few others here in the other quarters. I'd call them off, if we know Melody's down here."

"You do that."

On the other end of the room Beckie digs in her pockets for the communication device, eventually she finds it and calls upon the other group leaders.

"Charlie? Rill? Fuegoleon?"

A chorus of replies reaches her ears.

"We've found Melody, you can all head back now."

"Okay, when will you be back?" Charlie asks.

"Maybe in a day or two? I don't know how long it's going to take yet."

"So you haven't found Melody yet?"

"I have! Well I know where she is…"

"But she isn't with you right now?"

"The three of us are about to make a plan on how to rescue her."

"The three of you? Don't tell me you made some crazy alliance with a diamond."

"No I didn't. We made an alliance with a clover."

Beckie hangs up, tired of Charlie's questions and joins the two brunettes.

"Beckie! Finally! We already have a whole plan!" Finral jumps up, offering his seat.

"You do?"

"Yeah! Caitlyn knows where their base is, so we're going to break in, rescue Melody and hopefully be out without too much of a kerfuffle."

"Ok, when do we leave?"

"Tomorrow."

Meanwhile in the base of the Skade Gang Melody is tied to a chair with barely an inch of skin that isn't covered by cuts or bruises. Before her stands a broad bald man.

"You're a stubborn one. Tell me all you know about the scroll!" He demands, enraged.

We've been at this for days, maybe weeks when will it sink into his fat bald head?
"I don't know anything!" Melody screams, earning her the hardest kick to the shin so far. She can't manage to stifle a scream.
Don't look at it. You don't need to see it to know that it's broken.

"Do you not know who I am?!"

"You're the guy who kidnapped me?"

"My name is Artemis Scias! I'm the leader of the best gang in all of Diamond!"

Melody remains silent, staring at her lap, struggling to keep in all her tears.

"Give her until midnight tomorrow, if she still insists on secrecy...kill her."

Melody's eyes widen at the sound of venom in his voice.

Oh Finral, please hurry

Just then an all too familiar tingling sensation runs over her skin.

At least I'll be rid of these ropes, I guess. Shame I won't be able to run on this leg though.

By the time Melody is a few blocks away from the base it's morning. She's slumped against a wall in an empty square, because her good leg is absolutely exhausted from hopping around all the time. She's about to doze off when a loud mechanical clunk and whirring shocks her. In panic she tries to get up, forgetting about her broken leg which gives away underneath her immediately. The whirring stops and a hooded figure starts walking towards her.

This is it then.

She curls into a ball as best she can, like that'll do something to the approaching person.
"Please don't hurt me."

Her voice is barely a whisper, but the stranger is close enough to hear the words as clear as day.

"Now why would I do that?" The figure asks, removing its hood.
"Look at me."

Still cautious, Melody slowly lifts her now tear streaked face to look into Finral's overjoyed eyes.

"What on earth happened to you? Are you okay?" Finral exclaims, taking in Melody's visage.

He extends his hand to help her up, to which she just shakes her head.

"Can you stand?"

"No."

"Well why didn't you say so?" He says, hoisting her up, so that she's sitting comfortably in his arms.

"Finral, what are you doing? We don't have time to be pfaffing around. We've got a certain ginger to look for," Beckie's voice rings out from behind them.

"Oh, do you mean this ginger?" He spins around, clutching Melody tightly in his arms.

"Oh my-. What happened to her leg? We've got to get her to Nora, stat! Finral, what are you waiting for, take us back to the base!"

"Of course," Finral obeys.

Seconds later Beckie busts open the door of the base and is greeted with looks of confusion and as they see Melody looks of joy.

"Nora! Where's Nora? Has anyone seen her?"

Just as Beckie's explaining what's going on, the eldest Silva daughter walks in.

"What's wrong?"

"Melody's broken her leg."

"What?! Let me see. Make room on the sofa!" Nora orders, completely in her element.
"How did you get away? Please tell me you didn't walk on this."

"I hopped," Melody replies.

Just then Yami arrives, Luck close on his tail.

"Where were you two?" Beckie asks her fiancé.

"We were with Julius asking him about that weird amulet guy from the dungeon."
"Ooh, Melody's back. Hey Melody, wanna fight?"

"No! Luck, her leg is broken. She won't be fighting and I doubt she'll be walking any time soon."
"Finral, can you take her to the healing tower, I can't do anything here."

"Nora, I'm feeling kind of dazed."

"Finral quick!"

"Yes, ma'am!" He picks up the girl again.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing, cinnamon roll?"

"I'm taking you someplace where they'll make you feel better, my little bomb."

Not really thinking, because of her hazed state Melody suddenly presses her lips onto Finral's, earning various reactions from the rather large audience.

"Finral, you've got to go!" Nora presses.

"R-right," he says, opening the portal and stepping through.

"You didn't tell me that you're Magic Knights. Usually Artemis tries to avoid them," Caitlyn pipes up.

"To be fair, Melody wasn't wearing her robe, so he probably didn't know."

"I don't think that's the last we'll see of him," she says, sullen.
