"We are here today to mourn the loss of Pinkimena Diane Pie, better known by her many friends as Pinkie Pie."
Mr Waddle paused to straighten his bow tie.
"She was a perfect pony in every way, and will be sorely missed."

It had been about a month since Pinkie's death, and Rainbow Dash had certainly come off worse. She was in complete denial of Pinkie Pie's passing, even to the point of hallucinations. She was sure that Pinkie was with them when they lost their cutie marks, and when they decorated the castle. She spoke to her, and even visited her at Sugarcube corner. But in fact, all she was doing was mumbling and walking around on her own.
"But as much as we want to be sad about her death, we must also rejoice, for she brightened many lives, and opened our eyes to the wonders of laughter. And now, a speech from miss Rainbow Dash."
Rainbow, who was in the front row, was jolted into awareness by these words. She was a mess. Bags under her reddened eyes, and bite marks on her hooves. She started to edge slowly towards the stage. She cleared her throat as she reached the michrophone.
"I would like to start with a poem I wrote for Pinkie Pie."
She licked her lips.
"Many years have we spent, running from the truth. We had so many memories to share, and now they are lost in the void of death, along with yourself. But I shall not let go. You have inspired so many of us, and we are just meant to forget? No. We remember, we think back to a time of joy, a time of wonder. A time when we soared above the world on wings of angels. A time when you were with us..."
At this point, many of the faces in the crowd were smudged with tears.
"Pinkie pie. A pony of so many faces."
Dash started.
"She was always there, help or not. She was a gaurdian of our happiness. She kept us smiling through all the hardest times in our lives, and for that she will always be respected."
That was meant to be the end of the speech, so Dash started to walk off the stage, but paused, and walked back, a determined look on her face.

"Do you know what her last words were?" Rainbow growled, losing her soft, sad tone. When nopony did anything, she continued.
"She told me, 'always keep smiling,' and let me tell you, there's no way in hell I'm going to let her death get in the way of fulfilling her final dream."

With that, she began to storm off the stage. Before flying away, she looked over at her friends, who were all looking shocked. All apart from Princess Celestia. She had a slight smile on her face. And, as Rainbow took off, she could have sworn the princess nodded.
