"Answer the phone," Louis says from beside me. I look to him and back to the phone, ringing on the table, Liam's name across the screen.
"I... Um... I can't," I whisper, blinking tears away. I feel his hand on my back and he comes closer to me.
"You can love. You need this, I know it's hard, but it'll be good for you," he whispers back, I look to him again to find a tear running down his cheek and more filling his eyes.
"I... The next one," I answer as the phone quits ringing, a missed call notification coming up before the screen goes dark again, and Louis' arms wrap around my waist.
"Okay... I'll be here when it comes," he replies, and I easily believe him. He's been by my side almost every second for the past three months, seeing as he'd gotten time off after his accident.
"Am I over reacting?" I ask, knowing he'll be honest with me.
"No, of course not. You're hurting and you're allowed to react to your pain however you need to," he tells me, and I nod, biting my lip.
"Now, cuddles?" He asks, another tear falling down his cheek and I almost question it before deciding he's simply still hurting from his accident, he did get injured pretty bad.
But he is alive.
I nod and grab his hand, leading him to our room, making sure to not go to fast to not make his pain worse, and I gently help him lay down as more tears fall across his face, which I wipe before placing a kiss on his cheek and laying beside him carefully.
"Grease?" I offer, knowing his favorite movie will make him feel better, and he smiles weakly before agreeing.
