2. The Note That Said All:________________________
I lay on my bed with blankets covering my small body. It was the middle of the night and I couldn't fall asleep. My mind kept on remembering myself getting confessed to by the most popular boy at school while everyone watched. And I hated it.
Everyone stared at me while laughing, or in shock. And being the person I am, I ran away crying because of all of the attention I got. Freakin Kai, he got what he wanted which was to embarrass me like what he does to every loser at school like me. My eyes start to water as I repeated that word in my head.
Loser. Loser. Loser.
That's what I am, and that's what I always will be. There was a big lump in my throat which made me get up on my bed. I wanted to scream, but that would mean getting a stern talk with Clara, and I really don't want to wake up sleeping Clara or else her true monster self will be revealed.
So instead, I walked out of my room and headed downstairs. I looked around to make sure Clara was still asleep and she was. It was 1 in the morning, and thank god it's a Saturday too. I went to my dark kitchen and quickly grabbed a box a cookies and headed outside to my porch. The half moon shined up in the sky as well as the small stars that surrounded it.
I flip my phone out and sigh as I tapped on the one person who could most likely be awake by now. They answer the phone immediately while there was music blasting in the background. "Jace? Please come over."
People were yelling over the phone, and I mostly heard girls.
"Charlie? Charlie, are you alright---"
"---just come over here."
A tear came rolling down my cheek as I said the last word before I hung up, "Please."I put my phone down and pull my knees up to my face and tried not to cry loudly. People are just plain stupid, thinking that if someone is unsocial, that it would be alright to make fun of them. They think that because they don't talk to people, they wouldn't react to that. They're wrong.
People like me just want to punch them in the throat and scream and them saying that we have feelings too. That it hurts when you make fun of us or hurt us. That we do cry at home because of them. But Kai, he did the worst out of all the people that has ever made fun of me. This time, everyone got to see. You should have seen all the posts they said on Twitter and Instagram. Some were confused, some were just were in rage, and others were making fun of it.
I hear a car pull over with a screech and car door slam. Someone panting walks towards me and sat right next to me. "Charlie, what's wrong? Are you alright?" I look up and wipe my face with my sleeve, leaving it stained with tears. The only thing I did was shake my head and he understood completely. I leaned on Jace's shoulder as he puts his arm across my shoulder and held me tightly.
We stayed there in silence until he finally spoke up.
"You know," he started, "there was a girl at the party who tried to flirt with me. But instead, she literally sh!t her pants right in front of me because her friend scared her so bad. It was disgusting but funny at the same time."
A small giggle escaped my mouth, which made me feel a bit better. Jace notices me smile just a little, and he smiled right back at me."You wanna stay at my place for a bit?" He grabs a cookie from the box and eats it while putting his arm away from me. "Can't," I say, "Clara's gonna get worried, especially with you."
Jace runs his blonde hair with his hand and chuckles, "Yeah, Clara doesn't really like me. But that's what makes us good friends, right?"I smile at him as I ate a cookie with him. After having the courage to finally speak up, I told Jace what happened. He made a mad face when I mentioned Kai's name to him. When I finished, Jace looked at the dark sky and said, "I wish I was still in high school, I could've beat the crap out of him for you." I look at my bare feet and whisper. "But you know that wouldn't change anything, right?"
