My Glue (A Newt Fanfic)

Greenie #2?

The day was just winding down and the Runners were just getting back. Newt finished working early so we were just wandering the Glade when the siren started going off. Everybody looked around wondering what the hell was going on. I looked around and saw nothing. I tightened my grip on Newt and he held me closer. It sounded differently than the Greenie alarm. Everybody ran to the box but nothing happened. We all waited and waited. Nothing happened. After about an hour of waiting we all dispersed."Newt what was that? It sounded different that the Box's alarm and there was no noticeable change in the Glade." I was worried. I was worried what that signified and what what was going to happen. "I don't bloody know but I want to find out." Newt said.Alby came running up to us. He said that they are calling a gathering to figure out what to do about the alarm that went off. Newt ran off to the Homestead and I waited by the forest. I was shaking. I hoped nothing was wrong. We couldn't deal with a problem right now. We are still trying to figure out the maze and dealing with me and Mary. It's been two hours and the keepers still aren't out of the gathering. I go wandering around the doors of the maze when I see something move. Someone was out in the maze. I didn't know who and I didn't want to go out so close to the doors closing. I ran into the homestead and burst through the doors to the gathering. I got a lot of dirty looks but ignored them. I was panting for running so fast. Newt gave me a curious look and then came up to me putting his hands on my shoulders. "What the bloody hell happened. You aren't supposed to be in here." Newt said."There.. there....There is someone in the Maze and I don't know who they are. We've got to get them out before the doors close." I caught my breath. Everybody looked at me like I was crazy, even Newt."Ok let's check out how credible this is." Alby said. We all walked out. Newt was holding my hand I was leading to the door where I saw the figure. He was still there and everyone gasped."See? We've got to go get him!" I said. Alby, Minho and Newt ran in and to the figure. I saw them dragging him. They got through the doors just before they started closing. I gasped once I saw the boy's face. I knew him. Why did I know him?"Miranda what's wrong?" Newt asked panting from the work from dragging the boy."I... I...I know him. I don't know how or why but I know I know him." Everybody looked at me and I looked down. I was going to be questioned, accused of being a creator, and ostracized all over again. The boy looked at me and recognition flashed across his face."Miranda! I found you!" He said getting up and hugged me. I stood there stiff not knowing what to do. Newt stepped in between us looking like he was going to kill him. I pulled Newt away."Hey, um why don't we talk for a bit?" I said to the greenie. He lit up and immediately followed me to the tree house. Newt tried to follow but I told him to stay. When we got to the top the greenie hugged me again."Hey what are you doing? I don't know you." I said pushing him away."You don't remember me? I'm Thomas! We were together before this place." He said. I felt so confused. I couldn't have been with him. I don't feel any connection to him like I did with Newt."Here maybe this will make you remember." He said and then grabbed my face and kissed me. I didn't kiss back and my eyes were opened. "What the hell?" I said. I pushed him away. He looked hurt but I didn't care."Listen I need to know how you got here. Why were you in the Maze?" I said."I don't know. I woke up in a shallow box and when it opened I got out. I was in that maze so I ran around and finally found you guys. I don't know why I'm here and why I can only remember some things." He said. I nodded my head but didn't say anything still shocked from the kiss. I got up and climbed down the ladder. I looked for Newt and when I found him I ran to him. I needed to feel his lips on mine to replace Thomas'. I got to him and wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him. He was shocked but then kissed back. "What was that for?" He asked smiling."I need to feel your lips on mine after what happened with Thomas." He looked confused."What happened with Thomas and that's the Greenie right?""Yeah. Well first he said that he came through a box in the Maze. Then he said we were together before the maze. I freaked out and he thought it would jog my memory if he kissed me so he randomly kissed me. It didn't exactly happen in that order but those all happened. But I still don't feel anything for him. I never will." I said watching Newts face. At first he was shocked and then he got kind of mad. I saw him looking around the Glade. Probably looking for Thomas."Newt we can worry about this tomorrow. I'm hungry and tired. Lets go get something to eat." I said dragging him into the homestead.Luckily Thomas wasn't in there yet so we sat with Alby and Minho. Alby and Minho laughed at jokes Minho told and Newt and I had our own conversations. We were done eating and just chatting when Thomas walked in. He looked at me and looked sad. I looked away and saw Newt glaring at him. Newt got up and started walking towards him but I got up and stood in between him. I got om my tip toes and whispered in Newt's ear."Don't. Don't do this here. Lets go up to your room and go to sleep, I'm really tired." I said grabbing his hand. He looked down at me and then up at Thomas. I shook my head and then he wrapped his arm around my waist. He taunted Thomas by kissing the top of my head."Our room." He said and we went up the stairs and to the room. I pulled him inside and put my arms around his neck."Are you threatened by Thomas?" I giggle."No. He kissed my girlfriend, I'm pissed. Especially because you didn't want to." He said."If I remember he is like you. Thinking he has some kind of claim on me. I think you're threatened because he says we were together before." I say. He sighs and looks deep into my eyes."Yes. It's just because I don't want to lose the only girl I will ever love." I kiss him and then release his neck. I get changed into his shirt/nightgown. We slip into bed and he wraps his arms around me."I love you Newt." I say."I love you too." He says and then we both fall asleep.
