Aimee felt like everything was getting more and more complicated. She knew how Max had been lying. Saying that he had been sleeping with Esmè. When she knew it wasn't the truth.

Things with her and Tom had been tense too. Especially since Tom and Max had gotten into a row about Aimee and Esmè.

That morning, Aimee walked down into the kitchen. She saw Tom there. Tom looked to her. "Esmè has a scan today. She's asked if we want to go with her," he said.

Aimee frowned. "She asked me to go?"

"Yeah. You're her best friend. So she wants you there," Tom told her as he smiled. He pulled her close. "I know it's been hard with us. But I know that we can make this work. we just need to not let Max come between us."

Aimee went into work. She smiled as she saw Esmè sitting in her car. She kissed Tom and walked over to her.

Aimee sat in the car and smiled. "So. What's going on?" She asked.

Esmè sighed. "I don't know my head feels so messed up at the moment. I don't feel well. And this thing inside of me is making me want to throw up every morning. I hate being pregnant," she told her.

Aimee took her hand. She smiled. "It will all be worth it when you've given birth. Tom and I will be there for you too. Every step of the way."

Esmè nodded and smiled. "Sorry. I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I'm pregnant and alone. Just how I always imagined it. Max won't stop calling me. I've told him I'm not interested in him. He won't take the hint though."

"Ignore him babes."

"I guess. Anyway, how are things with you and Tom? I know it hasn't been easy. With Max and with me having his baby."

Aimee shrugged. "They've been tense, I'll admit. But I guess that we have to make it work. We both love each other. And we want it to work."

"Good on you both. Don't let this baby or Max come between you."

Aimee was sitting in her classroom. She looked up as Max walked in. She rolled her eyes and sighed. "What do you want Max?" She asked as she looked to him.

Max smiled. "I just wanted to see how you're doing. I know it's been tense with us. But I do still care about you," he told her.

Aimee rolled her eyes and sighed. "Yeah. I doubt it. If you did care about me, you wouldn't lie and tell me you've been sleeping with my best friend. So leave me alone."

"Come on Aimee. We were having a baby together. We've got something in common. We lost our baby."

Aimee scoffed. "That's not an excuse for you to be like this! You're an asshole Max Tyler. Leave me alone," she said as she stood up and walked off.

***
Tom smiled as he pulled Aimee into his classroom. He looked to her. "I told Esmè we would be there for her tonight."

"Yeah I told her this morning. Look, I want you to make it work with her. Not in a relationship. But as friends. She's having your baby and you need to support her. I'll support you too."

Tom held her close and kissed her. "This is why I love you. I know that we can make it work. I can be a good dad to the baby. And be with you. I promise. We've got this."

"I hope so babe."

But neither of them were aware of how it was all going to come crashing down for them.
