Andrei went to the penalty box often, he wouldn't necessarily say that he means to all the time but, it just happened sometimes. That was this time, he accidentally tripped somebody and now he was sent to the sin bin. He wasn't mad, he knew what he had done, so he calmly went to the box.

Usually sitting in the box was the same. He felt bad for doing something and how his team was now playing at a disadvantage. He felt like a kicked puppy in timeout usually but, now he had been getting used to it.

He sat there watching what was happening outside intensely. Nothing terrible was happening, the opposing team wasn't scoring so he relaxed.

Turning around to grab a gatorade bottle, he caught a set of eyes. A little girl staring at him intensely, extremely intensely. Her hands were placed on the glass and her face was pressed against the glass. It looked like she was trying to get as close to the glass as possible and she was succeeding. She had a canes jersey on but, he couldn't see which player it is.

They stared at each other awkwardly for a second before he smiled and waved at her. Her lip immediately started trembling and her eyes clouded with tears. His smile dropped with concern. The little girl immediately started wailing screaming "Momma! Momma!"

He scrambled closer to the glass where the girl was sitting and tried to stop her from crying. Spoiler Alert: She did not stop.

You were peacefully enjoying the game until your daughter started screaming crying next to you. "Hey, hey, hey Li what's wrong?"

She pointed to her right, where Andrei Svechnikov sat there with wide eyes and a flushed face. "He smiled at me mommy," She wailed into your shoulder.

You chuckled at her and started to pat her back while she was crying into your shoulder because her favorite player noticed her. "It's okay baby," You cooed.

"He saw me," She sobbed.

You looked up at Andrei and still noticed he was looking at her with concern. You smiled at him and pointed at the 'Svechnikov' name on her back and gave him a thumbs-up, signaling she was all good. He understood and relaxed back into the seat.

You smoothed your daughter's hair down and moved your shoulder, so she picked her head up. "Baby, why don't you say hi to him," I suggest.

Her cheeks get rosy and a shy smile appears on her face. She shakes her head. "It would make him sad if you didn't," I whisper in her ear.

Andrei watches you and your daughter interact with each other. To say it was the cutest thing he had ever seen was an understatement. He peeked a look at your back and sadly didn't see his last name too. The little girl turned back around to face him with bright red cheeks and a big smile on her face. Her eyes were still a little bit red from crying, but she looked as happy as could be now.
