JJ was in jail. There was no way around it. He stuck up for his best friend and took the blame. One of the absolute best things about JJ? His love for his friends. He'll do anything for them. Even if it means going to jail for them.
I was currently in my room, painting my nails when I got a knock on my door. "Come in!"
"Molly I have a question for you." Lucy asked.
"What's up?"
"You and that boy, are you together?"
"No, we're just really good friends."
"Oh girl please, I know that's code for dating."
"Seriously! I mean we shared a kiss but that's about it."
"And you haven't done anything about it since?"
"Nope.."
"Do you want to do something about it?"
I thought about that question for a bit, did I want to do something? Yes, I did but another question came up: what would everyone have to say about it? Would Lucy go crazy and tell everyone? Would the Pogues freak out? "I mean I do... but I'm worried about how everyone will react. Especially JJ, what if he doesn't want to do anything."
"If he doesn't want to do anything about it, he wouldn't have kissed you. Also, don't forget today is Midsummers."
Ah yes, Midsummers. The summer prom for the Kooks. Everyone gets all fancied up and some people get crowned for something, I don't really know. I've gone ever since I was little, Lucy's always taken me. She came back into my room and laid out this gorgeous light purple, short, dress. It was all silk, had spaghetti straps, and the skirt itself came out a little instead of laying at my sides.
"For you. Hey how's your friend doing now that he's in jail." I didn't give exact details for why JJ's in prison but I felt like telling someone and Lucy never tells secrets.
"No clue. I'm sure horrible as hell though."
"That sounds about right. Who knows, maybe he'll be at the party. He is a Kook right?"
"Um... not really."
"Oh your Kook friends are gonna have a field day with that." I laughed as she walked out of my room for the final time to leave me to get ready.
As Lucy and I walked into the Island Club, many boys about my age looked over at me and smirked. It was disgusting. Along with my dress I wore this hard-to-miss headpiece that was supposed to be "artsy" and "cute", it was anything but that. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm all for dressing up but I don't do big statement headpieces.
"My my my Molly! You look fine as hell!" Kie commented as she walked over my way.
I turned around and smiled at her, "talk about fine as hell, look at you queen! Hey I wonder if Pope's here."
