Amelia's POV

I woke up by a loud very very loud bomb. My heart began to race as I stood up fast as I could and felt the house shaking.

"AMELIA!" My brother yelled from somewhere around the house.

I ran following his voice, but I couldn't see him anywhere.

I ran and ran all around the house, my heart pounding so hard against my chest, while all I could hear were all the bombs outside the house. I got to the kitchen and saw that Jake was underneath a cabinet that had fallen because of the bombs. He had blood on his head and he couldn't move.

"JAKE!" I yelled as I crunched down and tried to help him.

"Amelia, you need to get out of here." He said, as he was struggling to get the cabinet off of his leg, which was now also injured along with his leg.

"No, I'm not leaving you." I said, determined, until another bomb that almost hit the house, crashed down.

I look at Jake, my eyes watering now that I felt in danger, trying my hardest not to cry. My heart was about to get out of my chest. His leg was bleeding so much, I didn't know what to do.

"Fuck." Jake said, as he closed his eyes, just in time for another bomb to go off. "You really need to leave Amelia, go hide in the basement."

"But what f I can help you? Maybe- maybe I can go to the bathroom and look for the emergency kit-"

"Amelia, do as I say... you need to leave." He was hurting, I could tell. His voice cracked at the end of that sentence, making my heart ache even more. I hate seeing him in pain and not being able to do anything for him.

"I can't leave you here Jake." I said as I shook my head. The cabinet was way too heavy for me, I can't lift it up even if I tried.

"Please... I promised mom and dad I would keep you safe. You need to do as I say." He said, his eyes beginning to kind of close, probably because of the pain.

"No, don't close your eyes, I will get you out." I said again, regaining my breathe and determination, and proceed to try and take the cabinet off.

Another bomb goes off, this time, hitting the front door, making it crumble down, as well as that wall. It almost hit me.

"SHIT!" I said, as I felt parts of the small glass that was on the door hit my arm. Well... it did hit me after all.

I was in so much shock, I didn't know how to react after that. That's until my brother said "Amelia, listen to me." My tears gave up and just began to roll down my face, as I felt more pain for my brother than the stupid glass on my arm.

I look at him, shaking my head, knowing what he was going to say. I know he wants me to leave him here, but I can't.

I can't lose him too.

"I-I can't lose you." I said, as I took his right arm which was the only part of his body that could be moved, since it wasn't crushed by the cabinet.

"You will never lose me, as long as you always remember me." He said, way too slow for my liking.

Another bomb.

I closed my eyes because this has been the loudest I've heard it.

"B-Before you leave." He started to say, and now he was struggling way more to get the words out of his mouth.

"Please..." I said as I tried to move the cabinet but really, it was impossible.

"Amelia- I-I never told you this because mom and dad never wanted me to let you know..."
