Finding you

I wake up the next morning feeling much more refreshed than yesterday. I heard music playing downstairs so I assumed my parents were up.

When I was halfway down the stairs I was confused on the music playing. I don't think my mom would listen to the Weekend. I turned the corner entering the kitchen to be greeted by Jack and Gilinsky eating.

"Morning boys" I smiled as they both looked up mouths stuffed.
"Breath before you can fit anymore" I laughed leaning against the counter.
"Anyways do you guys have cereal?" I asked Jack who got up and showed me the door it was in.
"We have a lot so" he chuckled walking away.
"Thanks" I smiled grabbing the frosted mini wheats, my favorite. I got a bowl from the dishwasher and poured me some cereal and milk taking a seat next to Jack.

I right away started to eat my cereal before it became soggy. I looked up at Gilinksy who was nodding his head towards me. I raised an eyebrow looking at Jack who didn't look up from his plate.

"What?" I asked
"Sophia don't get mad ight?" Gilinsky asked looking at Jack and then me again. I nodded slowly.
"You can't be around Sammy Soph. He's just going to hurt you like the rest" Jack explained in a quiet tone.
"What do you mean by the rest?" I asked hoping not to hear what I expected.

"He uses girl Soph. He gets them, loves them for a while, and then uses them. I don't want to see my step sister go through a heart ache because of him. You can't be with him you deserve better" He began to raise his voice.

It all hit me. Why he called me beautiful on the first day we met. Why he took me on a walk and kissed me. I'm so dumb for letting him kiss me, for going on that walk, for keeping his damn sweater.

I look up at Gilinsky who was frowning. I smiled weakly trying to hold back the tears, wait why am I going to cry over a guy I barley met.

"Thanks, for keeping an eye out for me" I smiled putting my arms around Jack. It took him a while to do the same but when he did I smiled to myself.

"Anytime" he whispered letting me go. I excused myself from the table rinsing my bowl. I was about to walk upstairs when I stopped and turned around. I walked back to the table and hugged Gilisnky.

"Thanks for doing the same" I smiled letting go and running upstairs. My heart kind of shattered when Jack told me about Sammy, I mean after all I did fall for him.

I close my bedroom door behind me and locked it. I plugged my phone into my iHome pressing shuffle so I could begin getting ready.

I pulled out a pair of blue ombré shorts and a white t-shirt. I grabbed a pair of red undies and a matching red bra, placing everything on the bed. I opened the closet grabbing my black vans and leaving them beside the bed as well.

I left the bathroom door open so I could hear the music while I showered. I stripped off my clothing and waited for the water to warm up. Once I stepped in my body was undergoing relaxation.

I've been stressing so much over the move and how my life is going to change so much, I didn't notice I needed to relax a bit. I forgot to grab my shower necessities but saw that my mom must have bought me some.

I stood under the water letting it soothe me. I slowly began to sing along to one of my old favorites.

This song just made me move but still has a meaning to it. I got out of the shower making sure to squeeze all the water out of my hair and wrapping myself into a towel. I walked back into my room quickly getting goosebumps down my skin.

I quickly got dressed trying to warm myself up before walking back into the bathroom. I ran the comb through my knotted hair, detangling it the best I could. I pulled it all to the side starting a French braid at the top and bringing it to the side. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, and did my makeup finishing up my daily routine.

I threw my dirty clothes into a pile across the room grabbing my phone and walking downstairs. I was starving and I just ate about an hour ago. I walked into the kitchen looking for a snack and grabbing a packet of crackers.

"So what are you doing today?" Gilinsky asked right as I took a seat on the couch. I shrugged opening my packet and placing one into my mouth.

"I'm not sure, probably wait till my mom gets home to go see the town" I replied looking up and smiling
"What about you guys?" I asked

"We're going to play basketball and then maybe the beach" Jack replied eyes locked on his phone. I nodded in response and placed my eyes onto the TV.

"You should come" Gilinsky suggested looking at Jack who just shrugged and nodded.
"I don't want to be the only girl there, I'll pass" I chuckled shaking my head.
"Nate's girlfriend is going, fair and square sista" Jack laughed winking at Gilinsky.

"Okay, if I don't like her I'm on my own" I reassured speaking in a serious tone.

"Okay fine, go get your stuff" Jack sighed as I stood up. I ran up the stairs grabbing my purse and placing sunscreen, my shades, gum, and wallet. I grabbed a black nets SnapBack I brought along and put it on.

I grabbed my newly bought bathing suit from Hollister and put it on underneath my clothes so I didn't have to change over there. I grabbed a towel running downstairs and meeting the guys in Gilinskys car.

"Sorry I took long" I laughed buckling myself in
"Kind of expected it" Jack laughed plugging his phone into the aux cord.
"We're picking up sam, so he'll come to the front when we get there" Jack turned around smiling as I nodded.
"Sounds good" I replied looking out the window.

I pulled my phone out logging into Twitter and sending out a tweet.

"@SophiaAnn : Beach day 🏊🏽🏄🏽 w/ the bros" I sent tweet not bothering to ask either Jacks for there usernames.

When the car came to a stop I looked up and saw Jack immediately getting out of the car. He scooted in beside me giving me a sincere nod.

Sammy ran out of the house towards the car and opened the front door. He greeted everyone with a smile and what's up getting in.

"Jack you could sit up here you know?" Sammy turned around facing Jack and I. I looked at Jack who shook his head which hoped he would. Sammy nodded slowly and looked at me. I stared into his brown eyes getting lost in them once again.

I looked away out the window and waited for him to turn back around. Gilinksy and Sammy began to make short talk breaking the silence for everyone. Even though Jack is my stepbrother I feel like it's awkward to have a normal conversation.

We pull up to the beach parking lot and all got out in relief. I've never been to a beach before but gosh it's so beautiful. I stretched quickly before putting my shades on and looking around. Sammy grabbed my hand pulling me closer but I politely pulled mine away.

"What's wrong? did I do something?" He asked getting closer to me
"No Sam stop. I don't want to get hurt! I heard all about the games you play" I yelled shaking my head and trying to get away.

I tell Johnson that I will be at the beach probably tanning and he agreed that we'll meet up later. I laid my towel out, rubbed some tan lotion on me and laid down putting my earphones in.

The sun felt extremely amazing and just being able to relax made it better.
