I didn't find this page in the notebook, nor the 4th. I went back into the woods again this morning and found this one stuck to a branch. It's stained with blood and dried water from the drizzle of rain last night. The entry is somewhat distorted, but still readable. It looks like M's handwriting.

'January 5th,

We're running again. Something got in, scratched L up real bad. It had sharp, rakelike claws and pale skin with sunken eyes and a large jaw that opened like a snake's. It smelled of metallic blood and the forestry and rotting flesh and it shattered the window and charged straight towards us. L was able to knock it out with their shovel again, smashing it into the thing's head like a watermelon. Next thing I know we're back in the woods at a full bolt. We found a pathway of stones and sand. Following it, the path led us uphill to this old, seemingly-abandoned park. There were old swingsets with rusting metal and shipping paint and a large, rotting, wooden treehouse near a playground that used to be vibrant but has since faded. The ground waas mulch and grass and there were ancient park benches around, too. It was almost like a large, circular clearing. Odd shapes and letters were dug in the mulch or scratched into the plastic underneath the slides. Some were clearer while others were scribbled and unrecognisable. The swings slowly sway on their own, regardless of the wind and the air is full of...what's the word? Premonition? That. I can't shake the feeling that we're being watched by someone. Or something. Luckily, there's enough room and hopefully enough time for me to patch up some of L's wounds from whatever that thing was.'

So they've found an old playground area in the woods. They honestly shouldn't have stayed, but I suppose, as seemingly humans, they need to tend to their injuries more than I'd have to do with mine. I'm planning to go back out into that forest to see what else I can find.
