Sugawara's POV

I watch as the arguments start getting heated up. Kageyama and I look at each other in concern.

Poor Kageyama... He probably thinks this whole thing is his fault. I stare at everyone, hoping that the noise and anger will lessen soon.

Eh..?

Where's Hinata?

I look around the room when finally, I see him. I see Kiyoko behind him, covering Yachi's ears. Hinata's covering his ears and his eyes shut while looking like he's trying to protect Yachi.

Hinata...

Does Hinata...

Dislike noise?

I mean- No one would like to hear arguments unless they're insane, but... He seems so-

Tense.

Hopeless.

And slightly afraid.

I look back at the rest of the team and Takeda Sensei trying to calm everyone down and Ukai-San looking like he's about to give up.

I don't blame coach Ukai, though. Kageyama is a much better player than me. He will definitely help us get to nationals.

I breathe in and out. This is starting to give me a headache.

"I'm fine with benching."

Silence.

"What?" I stare at Nishinoya as he looks at me with a dumbfounded expression.

"I said I'm fine with benching", I repeat. Kageyama turns to face me with widened eyes and grabs me by my shoulders. "O-Oi, senpai! You don't... You shouldn't give up so easily! You can be the official setter until next year!"

I shake my head. "No, it's fine, Kageyama" I look at him with a smile. "I trust you!"

Silence again.

I turn to my right and see Yachi, who seems more relieved. Kiyoko appears to be shocked. And Hinata is back to his usual expressionless face.

It's quiet.

"Are you... sure?" I turn to Asahi and grin once again. "Yup! Besides, if Kageyama gets hurt or tired, I'll have his back!" They all look at me in awe.

"Alright. If you say so", Daichi speaks up hesitantly. "Now that's settled", Ukai-San says, "GET BACK TO PRACTICE NOW!"

"SIR, YES, SIR!"

{TIME SKIP}

"I'll get going now! See you!"

Hah... What a tiring day today. Two practices today... School was exhausting today...i

I hope that something good happens soon...

"Suga-San."

I turn around, "Hinata?"

"Do you mind if we walk together? We seem to be going the same path anyway", Hinata asks. I shake my head in hesitance. "I don't mind."

I watch as he catches up to me at his usual pace. We continue walking in silence.

I can't tell if it's awkward or not...

"Suga-San..." I look down to see the top of Hinata's head. "Hm?" He stares at the road in front of us. "What you did today was very admiring."

I can feel my face turn red as I try to brush it off. "Ah... That? It was nothing, heh", I explain as I awkwardly laugh. "It wasn't nothing to me, though."

I watch as he turns to face me, as we both suddenly stop. "And I'm sure it wasn't nothing to everyone else. Especially Kageyama-Kun."

We stare into each other's eyes in comfortable silence. "You think so?" He shakes his head, "I know so."

I reach my hand out slowly as I see him nod. I play with his hair as we both stay together quietly. "I know this is your last year, not just as a high school student but your last year to play volleyball with everyone else. At least your juniors", he speaks up as I run my fingers through his hair.

"And giving up your spot like that takes a lot." I stop as we make eye contact and move my hand to his face.

I caress his cheek as gently as I can.

Ah... If this was a movie or a book, we would totally be kissing by now.

"I appreciate you, and I'm sure everyone else does."

He grabs my wrist and pulls me into a hug.

I stay still in shock.

I can feel my heart beating quickly and my face slowly turning into a tomato. I hope Hinata doesn't notice.

He moves away from me slowly and walks off to the right.

I'm going to go left, though...

"See you tomorrow, Suga-San."

I nod as I shakily wave my hand. "M-Mhm! Take care, Hinata!"

I watch as his silhouette gradually disappears into the dark.

I walk off in the direction of where my house is. I place my hand on my heart as it's still beating rapidly. "Hinata..." I sigh heavily and chuckle. "What am I gonna do..?"

I hope that something good happens soon...

Thank you to whoever answered my wish.

I owe you.
