Nishinoya's POV
When did this start..?
Since when did I start acting like this?
"Yū, We're going to work now. Tell your sisters when they wake up." I nod happily. "Mhm! Bye-bye, Oka-San! Bye-bye Oto-San! I love you!"
I watch as they shut the door. I stand there looking at the door quietly.
"Silly oka-San and oto-San! They forgot to say I love you back!"
{TIME SKIP}
"Ojisan... Do oka-San and oto-San not love me anymore?" I frown as tears roll down my cheeks.
"Whatever do you mean, Yū?" He approaches me and wipes my tears. "They never say I love you back, and they're always at work!"
I watch as ojisan smiles, "they love you a lot. They just have trouble expressing it." I cross my arms and pout, "yeah, right!"
He chuckles and puts a hand on my shoulder. "If you need help, don't be afraid to ask someone for assistance, Yū."
I look at him with stars in my eyes.
"Mm!"
{TIME SKIP}
"NISHINOYA YU! WHAT ON EARTH IS YOUR GRADE?!" I look down at the floor as tears drop down. "This is absolutely ridiculous! Why can't you be like your sisters?!"
"I'm sorry... I'll try harder next time."
It's not that I don't want to ask for help. I can't. I wish it would just fly to me whenever I need it. So instead of looking for help, I don't.
I just... don't.
"Hinata... I-" He looks at me with his hands still on mine. "Take your time, senpai. I'm right here." I nod hesitantly as I breathe in.
"I pretend to be happy a lot. I'm not the way I behave, though. Inside, I'm kinda fucked up. Not the ball of energy I seem or aspire to be."
"I could tell." My eyes widen as we make eye contact. "Was it that obvious?" He stays quiet for a bit before he moves a bit closer.
"To me, it was."
I see... "How'd you figure out?" He shrugs, "I knew from the beginning. I can tell many things from one glance" I look at him as he continues explaining.
"But I know a lot of things from a conversation."
{SMALL TIME SKIP}
I got Shoyo's number. He said I can text him whenever I'm feeling troubled.
I look up at him. "I should get going soon, Nishinoya-San." I nod, "are you going to go home soon?" I watch as he puts on his bag. "Soon. I just want to sit for a little longer."
He nods, "don't stay here for too long, though. I don't want you to catch a cold." I feel my face turn red, and my heartbeat increase after he says that.
But not enough to make my heart beat fast.
Huh...
"Don't worry, I won't." He checks his phone before facing me. "I'm going now. See you on Monday, Nishinoya-San." I nod happily, "mhm! Bye Hinata!"
I watch as he freezes. "Is something wrong?" He steps closer, "you can call me Shoyo." I pause as we gaze into each other's eyes. "Huh?"
My heartbeat is too... fast.
"Call me Shoyo. Hinata doesn't sound right coming from you." I nod slowly. "R-Right."
Ah- I can call him... Shoyo!
"See you soon, Shoyo!"
He looks at me before speaking up hesitantly.
"See you, Yū-San."
THUMP!
My eyes widen as I watch his figure get smaller and smaller each second.
THUMP!
Yū...
THUMP!
I reach my hand to my chest.
THUMP!
Just some plain old crush.
This isn't just some crush, is it..?
THUMP!
