AFTER THE WEDDING

"Hey."

Scarlett looked up and smiled a little when she saw her wife. Throughout the day, she couldn't stop staring at Y/N, not only because of Y/N's beauty, but also because she knows this might be the last time she will ever see Y/N up close.

"Hey." Scarlett said and smiled.

"Everyone's pretty much gone, you okay? You're awfully quiet today." Y/N said as she stand in front of Scarlett. "And I have this feeling that you've been avoiding me after our date, am I right?"

Scarlett took a deep breath, "We need to talk."

Y/N frowned, Scarlett looked serious and... sad. "About what?"

"About us." Scarlett answered.

"Okay? What about us? Should we come home first? We can leave now." Y/N said.

Scarlett shook her head, "That's... that's not happening."

"What? Just say it, Scarlett. You're killing me here." Y/N said, stressing out.

"I've been thinking and... I'm done." Scarlett said, looking away from her wife. "I'm just... done."

"What do you mean you're done?" Y/N asked.

"I'm just... t-tired. Tired of everything, tired of waiting every single day for your memories to come back. Let's face it, Y/N. It's not gonna happen, it'll never happen." Scarlett said, her heart clenching painfully. I'm so sorry, my love. I'm so sorry. She thought as Y/N started crying.

"That's not fair, Scarlett." Y/N whispered, "But I understand, I know I'm just disappointing you. It's just... I wished things were better." She said while wiping her tears. She can't believe this, she thought everything will be okay between her and Scarlett. Seems like she's wrong, this is far from being okay.

"Me too," Scarlett said, letting her own tears fall. She caress Y/N's cheek. "I also wish things were better." Then I won't have to let you go. She thought.

Y/N leaned into Scarlett's touch, closing her eyes for a second.

"Just know that..." Scarlett whispered, "I tried. I really tried." She said, pulling her hand away from Y/N's face and as soon as she did, all she can feel is cold.

"I know." Y/N said, smiling sadly. "Thank you for trying."

Scarlett gulped, she smiles sadly.

"Just..." Y/N took a deep and shaky breath, "Thank you."

"I didn't really do anything." Scarlett said, if anything, I failed you. Once again. She thought.

Y/N shook her head, "You did everything, when I lost my memory, you accepted me. You accepted me for who I am, and not for what you wanted me to be. Not the old me that remembers everything about you and me. Just... me."

Oh, God. Scarlett sniffles, wiping her tears. She nodded her head and looked at the love of her life, "Just remember, if we are really meant for each other, we will find our way back."

Y/N sobbed, "Y-Yeah."

"But for now, this is goodbye." Scarlett said, her voice breaking.

Y/N took a deep breath, "Yeah. Goodbye, Scarlett."

Scarlett look between Y/N's eyes, her tears can't seem to stop falling. How can you tell to the love of your life it's time to walk away? She thought, her heart breaking into millions of pieces.

Without saying anything, Scarlett turned around and started walking. Every step that she takes is a stab in her heart.

"Scarlett." Y/N called out.

Scarlett stopped walking and turned around, she wanted to run back to Y/N and tell her how much she loves her.

But Scarlett didn't, she stayed still. Looking at the love of her life, slowly breaking in front of her eyes.

"I hope that one day I will be able to love you as much as you love me." Y/N said, crying. Her head hurts, but her heart is much worse. It's like someone is physically stabbing her heart without the desire of stopping. It's as if even death itself couldn't take away the pain she's feeling.

Scarlett smiles sadly, "You figured it out before, and you'll figure it out again." She said before she turned around and walked away, for real this time.

And Y/N was left there, crying.
