My Emerald: A movie!Knuckles x reader story

~Chapter 3~

"Hey, w-who in the world are you?!"

Tails watched my every move as I tried to move, but his confused, fearful eyes looking at me made my body freeze.

I hate this so much.

I managed to gingerly step back, but Tails stopped me from going further, getting closer to me.

"It's ok, I'm not gonna hurt you! As long as you don't hurt me of course-"

I tried to sprint away, but almost immediately tripped over a rock, falling onto the hard stone ground. I winced in pain as Tails came over to 'help'.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

I shook my head. Of course I wasn't ok!

Suddenly, Tails held out his hand, implying for me to take it.

I hesitated, but eventually took his hand, letting him lift me up off of the ground. I silently thanked him and began to walk off, but yet again he held me back, grabbing hold of my arm. I turned around, annoyed.

"Aren't you at least going to tell me your name?" Tails questioned.

I paused, and quietly gave my reply, my voice a bit croaky after not talking for a while.

"I'm y/n," I muttered, loudly enough for Tails to hear.

"Well, nice to meet you, y/n! Before you go... wherever, do you want to meet my friends? I'm sure they'd like to meet you too!"

I thought about it for a while. I knew exactly who Tails was referring to, but I don't think I'm ready to meet them yet. Especially Knuckles... but, I could only get this opportunity once.

"Ok," I muttered. Tails smiled, and dragged me lightly by the arm, continuing to talk on and on about Sonic and Knuckles, as well the previous 'adventure' they'd gone through. I couldn't help but feel bad for all of them, but I was still very nervous to meet the group, even though I watched them play baseball almost everyday.

I just hope that nothing bad happens because of this...

We soon arrived at the place that the group supposedly lived in. It was... certainly small, but nice. Not quite homely, but nice. Tails proceeded to drag me inside, and I paused as I saw two familiar figures sitting in what was apparently called the 'lounge'. Tails dragged me towards them, and I tried to hide away as Tails introduced me.

"Hey everyone! Meet y/n!" Tails energetically spoke, trying to get me to not hide away.

"Oh, hey y/n!" Sonic spoke in an excited tone, getting up from the couch to greet me. I smiled quickly before looking away, but as I looked away my eyes met Knuckles' eyes. He hadn't spoke, or even moved to say hello as well.

He already hates me, I knew it...
