My Emerald: A movie!Knuckles x reader story

~Chapter 9~

(Yay I'm back! This'll be quite short but oh well, enjoy!)

I was abruptly awoken the following morning by a familiar voice. My eyes opened to see Sonic trying to shake me awake excitedly.

By heaven's name, what does Sonic want now?

I sat up, and reluctantly decided to listen in to what Sonic had to say.

"Hey, Y/n, can I ask you a couple of things?" He spoke, sitting down in front of me.

I nodded, not bothering to speak.

"Ok! So... you know about me interrupting the whole thing last night with you and Knuckles?" He continued, "Do you think it means something? To you, I mean..."

I thought for a while, my face blank. The whole thing kinda meant something... if what he means is me having these odd feelings around Knuckles, for some reason. 

I decided to, yet again, nod in reply, not knowing what Sonic was going to say next.

"Oh, ok. Well, I need to tell you something... about Knuckles..."

Oh god...

"He, er... might like you?? In that way, if you know what I mean?"

My eyes widened in surprise. I knew his gesture meant something, but that was not what I was expecting. Plus, we've only known each other for a week or two now, maybe a bit longer... I can't believe he actually likes me though.

"Ok..." I replied, still slightly surprised.

"So... are you going to confront him?" Sonic asked, looking at me seriously, which he rarely did.

Again, I decided to nod. I have to confront him about all of this someday...

Soon enough, Sonic left me alone again, but I decided not to fall asleep again. Instead I just stay sat up, thinking about... Knuckles. This is so weird... all these feelings, thoughts, actions, I do them all so oddly whenever he's near me, or even when I'm only thinking about him.

I think I like him too... but all I've got to do know is confess...

It can't be too hard, can it?

Suddenly, I heard the rustling of leaves close behind me, and I turned around expecting it to be Sonic again, but no.

It was Knuckles, of course it was, what a coincidence...
