2 November 1971

Ziggy was in the hallways sat up against the wall by the middle courtyard, Remus had joined her, they had been enjoying each other's company in silence. Remus had suddenly been mad on homework for the past couple weeks, he was scribbling down notes, reading and back to scribbling. Ziggy just sat there head up, eyes closed, enjoying the sun that was rare to come out during the months (though it was still freezing) it was meant to start to snow by November in Scotland and it hadn't. Ziggy didn't remember what the touch of snow felt like as where she came from the touch of snow turned to water fast.

"Remus whadd'you reckon would happen if I didn't do any homework at all for the whole year?" She asked. Ziggy hadn't started anything joining the school, she didn't care for it. It was like every month there was a period that Remus acted cold and careless towards anything and he hated the world and the world hated him, he said he had felt ill. He had once told Zig that he was partly in a childrens home but not to tell anyone, Ziggy thought maybe he was ill since a little boy, and that was why he was in the children home.

"Well, any bets McGonagall would try have a word and if that doesn't do shit then, Dumbledore probably would and if that does nothing that's probably it for ya." He replied seriously.
"Alright so I wouldn't care then." She laughed. She cared for Remus as much as she did for the girls in her dorm yet Remus was easier to tell to, he was the same as her.

"Oi Lupin! Been looking for you everywhere mate!" James bellowed down the hall. There the boys three, James, Sirius, and Peter. James and Sirius had no intention to speak to Ziggy and she had no intention to speak to them. Just yesterday in transfiguration Professor McGonagall had paired James and Ziggy together, other than that Ziggy didn't want to say a nice thing.

"Remus, c'mon we got important business like my birthday to sort out." Sirius said in a strop, Remus wasn't bothered though.

"Alright give me a minute." He replied which made James and Sirius sigh like the dramatic people they were.

"Hi Pete." Ziggy smiled.
"Hi Zig, you alright?" He waved.
"Not bad yourself?"
"Good thanks." He said. James and Sirius looked at him in a threat which got him to shut up quickly. Ziggy just laughed to herself. Pete and Zig had managed to stay friendly to each other since their lesson in Herbology, a bloody Mandrake made Peter faint so Ziggy took him to the medical wing, it was quite entertaining.

"C'mon Remus."
"Yeah come on Remus." Sirius repeated after James.
"Well he's not feeling great so give him a minute." Ziggy responded. Ziggy sat there staring hasty at the pair and smirked as Remus wasn't budging off the wall.

"Sirius." A voice called out. Each head turned to see Bellatrix Black, and Narcissa Black Sirius's cousins.
"What?" He asked.

"Don't speak to me like that cousin, address me properly. Come here." She demanded more than asked. Sirius however didn't budge. "Come here else-" she said as she took her wand out her robes.
Remus, James, Peter and Sirius's eyes all widened in fear. Ziggy couldn't care less in all honesty.
Sirius quickly marched to his older cousins.
"What do you reckon that's about?" James swallowed hard.
"His birthday." Ziggy so sarcastically implied.

Sirius came back from around the corner, still shakily and dragging his feet. His two cousins watched as he came back to his friends, and Ziggy.
"It's that girl." Narcissa whispered to her sister.
"Dirty mudblood." Bellatrix bellowed to the girl.
"Bite me!" Ziggy spat back. She never really heard the word mudblood, except the time James correct Sirius on the train for muggle born. The two sister linked arms and the crazier one dragged the younger one away in a strop.
"So what does Mudblood mean? He called me it on the way here and now her, is it an insult?" Ziggy asked.
"It means that your not a pure blood that you have dirty and-" Remus so awkwardly stuttered.
"Muddy blood." Ziggy finished. "Well wouldn't want to have pure blood anyway, and turn out like that, please." She insulted.
Ziggy jumped off the wall where she sat and smiled at Remus then decided to head back to the common room.
Once she got back to the common room she saw Dorcas and Mary.
"Hey Mary, Cas. Alright?"
"Yeah you? Just about to head down for dinner, the others are already down there." Mary smiled sweetly.
"Yeah, umm let's go." Dorcas jumped up from her seat.
The girls walked down the halls of the school and skipped their way down the stairs towards the hall like everyone else.  Mary, Dorcas and Ziggy was talking about the muggle life, music and how they missed it.
"Zig I forgot to ask what part of London are you from, I might come visit in the summer." Mary said. Ziggy's heart froze, she didn't want Mary to come to her house for her protection and also Ziggy had already lied about her life she would need to lie more.
"Oh urm, I'm really from- I'm by the Thames." She lied.
"Oh nice! So central. It must be nice getting to shop every day!" Mary's eyes beamed.
"Yeah." Ziggy nodded.
"I'm just to the west a bit but a little walk or lift won't hurt." Mary smiled.
Ziggy felt terribly guilty for lying to her friends, Ziggy had understood in that moment that she was going to carry the secret for seven years and it would end up coming out.
Ziggy, Mary and Dorcas walked into the hall,  the Slytherins' that she didn't like stood by the entrance. Bellatrix glared at the first year butt Ziggy didn't back down to no fight she did it right back. In fact Ziggy placed her middle finger up at the girl, sarcastically smiling.
"Zig! Put it down!" Mary slapped her hand.
"That like a six year!" Dorcas reminded Zig.
"Ok and? She's a bitch." Ziggy answered.
