Nalea -  nineteen years old, the present

This world's filled with all types of supernatural beings, and me..... I had no idea what I was supposed to be. Well, not exactly. I vaguely remembered my dad being a warlock (witch). They'd run test after test, the results were always the same... unknown, and if I was lucky I'd occasionally get errors, to spice things up.

I had these.... abilities, that I couldn't quite master yet, some things I knew and others I didn't.

I was tired of the tests and knew that I had to make peace with the fact that I might never know and to do that, I needed to leave. I left all of it behind three years ago.

Now I just want to be Nalea, not Nalea the girl whose parents abandoned her, not Nalea the girl that didn't know what she was. Just Nalea.

I needed to be just Nalea.

Today was my first day of university and I was determined to put all my focus into that, I had somehow managed to get myself a scholarship and I had no plans of fucking that up.

I tied my hair up into a messy ponytail, wearing a pair of black leggings and a blue T-shirt. Simple right? The complete opposite of what I decided to go with last night.

Thank god!

It was early and the walk from my apartment to the campus was only about twenty minutes, so I decided to stretch my legs a bit. Loving the way the wind felt against my skin.

I was there fifteen minutes early, deciding to walk the hallways, familiarizing myself with the campus. It was huge, bigger than I'd remembered, I had been here once before for orientation.

I was awestruck, walking and admiring the architecture of the building, it was old and had a beautiful stone finish. I made a left walking into someone, completely unaware of his presence. I lost my balance before I'd go crashing to the ground, embarrassing myself, he'd pulled me tightly to his chest, keeping me on my feet. I slowly looked into the eyes of my savior. My hero.

I was caught off guard by his golden brown eyes, they were warm and homey, littered with dark brown specks. He had the prettiest golden eyes ever. His scent caught in my nostrils, he smelt of pine cones and mint, I loved that smell.

'Mate' the voice in my head whispered, so low that I almost missed it, she'd been with me for as long as I could remember, but she hadn't shown herself in years. I was in shock, only now registering what she had said.

That's not possible, I was a nobody. Why would I be mated to this stranger? With the voice so close to the surface I could smell him better. He was a wolf.

He'd been staring into my eyes for too long. Was his wolf curious about me?

No, I  needed to get away from him before anything happens.

I  pulled myself away from the stranger muttering a quick "sorry" quickly before running off, not even waiting for his response.

I could feel his gaze boring a hole into the back of my skull as I hurried away, not sparing a second look back.

"Shit!" I couldn't be anyone's mate but he's so cute!
No! What am I thinking?
I- I need to focus, I could avoid him can't I?

.

After a whole day of avoiding that golden eye stranger, I was exhausted... And annoyed.
I need a freaking nap-
I'm interrupted by the buzzing of my phone, Emily, I sighed picking up my phone to see a series of texts from her.

She was one of my two best friends but she was always reminding me of how much of a bad influence Cydney was.

Emily: Go to a club with me, bestie?
