Chapter Three

I woke up in Grayson's arms this morning. He was fast asleep, which allowed me to sneak out before I had to deal with the awkward morning after, but at least I left him a note. Not sure how the morning after usually works when you sleep with a stranger.

Did I even tell him my name? Should I have waited until he woke up to leave? Things like that I would usually ask Cydney, but I had to be on campus in thirty minutes and Cyd had a history of disappearing and reappearing whenever she felt like it.

I took a quick shower, drying my hair, or at least trying to, I didn't have time, so I applied some sunscreen and moisturizer. Changing into a pair of shorts, white converse, and a blue tank top. I didn't have time for second-guessing my outfit choice, if I was going to walk, I needed to leave now.

I was just in time for my first class of the day, although by that time, most students on the east wing were either already in their classes or hanging out in one of the lounges. My class went by smoothly today, avoiding the wolf was rather easier than I thought, maybe because he'd seem to be staring clear of me too, why? I had no clue. He'd just give me a disapproving look or scowl whenever we would cross paths. Which was a lot, we shared a lot of the same classes.

Time after time, I found myself thinking about last night though, the fact that I slept with someone I didn't know... without protection. He was a vampire though, do they get STIs? Am I being paranoid? The only thing I was certain of was that I needed to ring Cydney somehow, I needed her, but most of all I needed a plan B pill.

This is what I get for skipping my birth control pills so often. I internally rolled my eyes before forcing myself to pay attention to my last lecture of the day. It was almost over anyway.

Before leaving the lecture hall, I shot Cyd a text, hoping she'd respond, or at least read it. She wasn't always reachable, but she was always there when I needed her.

Nalea: Hey Cyd? could you meet me, bring plan b w/y xo

read.

I took a deep breath, before putting my textbooks in my bag and heading out. I didn't even notice that it was raining until now. Am I supposed to walk home in this?

This is what I get for not having a car, I huffed, beginning my second walk of shame of the day. I walked along the sidewalk, my hair sticking to my face as I kept my head down, hopping over the large puddles.

A car pulled up beside me, I turn back to get a look at the driver... it's Zaiden. Of course, it's him, a shitty day for a shitty person. I smiled to myself.

"Hey kid, get in," he said.

Kid? What is he? 50?

"No thank you," I said continuing my walk home, there was no point in avoiding the puddles now, I was already drenched. I made sure to turn, giving him a sincere smile, I wasn't trying to be rude.

"Nalea right?" How did he know my name? "You'll get sick," he added.

"No offense, but I don't know you, you know stranger danger and all," I breathed, noting the sarcasm laced in my voice.

I watched as he took a deep breath. Was he finally going to give up?

"... It's Zaiden... my name, it's Zaiden."

I smiled at him, "Hello to you too Zaiden." I rolled my eyes, stopping for a second to weigh the pros and cons of me getting into his car right at this very moment. Noting how much more cons there were in this situation right now.

Fuck it.

"Fine, I get into your car, but if you plan on murdering me, I'm gonna be real pissed." He seemed to be thinking about what I just said, and I used the opportunity to climb into the passenger seat of his car. "I was kidding by the way," I laughed.
