Harvey combed his hair or attempted to at least. His hair was usually curly unless he brushed it when it was wet and let it dry like that and it was a struggle to try and deal with.

His thoughts were primarily focused on his new group of 'friends'. He wasn't sure what to call them yet.

His mind drifted to Jasper and what he had said yesterday.

"I think you should know that being friends with me isn't a good idea. I won't stop you from staying but I don't advise that you do," the blonde said.

"And why is that?"

"I'm dangerous whether you think so or not. It's entirely your choice if you want to leave."

Harvey didn't think Jasper was dangerous, but he didn't know enough about the blonde to judge him. It was nice that he wasn't forcing Harvey to stop being friends with him and was instead giving him a choice.

Harvey was pulled out of his thoughts when his phone buzzed. He checked it and saw he had a few minutes till he had to leave.

He looked at his outfit which consisted of a white button-up, black jeans that were ripped at the knees, and 4-inch black platform boots.

He grabbed his bag and a granola bar, as well as his skateboard, and skated off to school. Usually, he rode with his sister to school but he didn't feel like doing that today.

The only difficult thing about that morning up until lunch was the fact Harvey was riding a skateboard in platform boots. He was used to it by now, but it was still a bit difficult.

When it was time for lunch Harvey was guided to the Cullen's table by Alice. He sat down next to Jasper who looked severely uncomfortable and like he was in pain, so typical-looking Jasper.

"Are you ok?" Harvey asked, he was worried about the blonde.

"I'm fine darlin'," Jasper replied, slightly smiling at the shorter male. Harvey's face now held a red hue which he chose to ignore. He felt at ease when he was near Jasper, something he didn't quite understand.

He noticed the Cullens were all ghostly pale, unearthly beautiful, and they all looked like they had marble skin. Something about them was slightly off, this wasn't the first time Harvey had noticed this though.

The second or third day he'd known the family he'd been wondering why they seemed so not human-like, he didn't know the answer to this question, however.

"Harvey, why do you barely ever eat?" Jasper asked.

"You're one to talk, I've never even seen you touch food," Harvey scoffed. Harvey heard loud laughter and turned to see some girl that was sitting with Bella laughing at something while Bella looked mildly uncomfortable.

Do I need to go kill a bitch? Harvey wondered. He heard Edward awkwardly cough and Harvey raised an eyebrow at the boy.

"Jasper, can you help me with the history homework tonight please?" Harvey asked the blonde, getting a confused look from him.

"I thought you were good at history? Don't you like it?" Jasper asked.

"Yeah I do, but I'm trash at homework and I need an excuse to be busy enough not to talk with my sister. We had a little fight yesterday," Harvey explained.

"Oh, I can help you. I can drive us there if you want," Jasper offered.

"Nice, thank you," Harvey said smiling.

"No problem, spending time with you is always fun," Jasper said offhandedly, noticing how Harvey's face turned slightly pink.

The raven-haired boy wasn't used to being complimented so it was nice and a little surprising.

"Why thank you, good sir, spending time with you is also nice," Harvey said, immediately after the bell rang and he and Jasper walked to history class.

They sat in their usual spot and didn't even try listening to the teacher, they already knew what was being taught.

"Where did you get this scar?" Jasper asked, his cold fingers lightly tracing the scar on Harvey's forehead that followed his hairline.

"I fell out of the second-story window at one of my old friend's houses. I was like, thirteen I think," Harvey explained.

"How did you fall out the window?" Jasper asked.

"I was sitting on the windowsill and sneezed, lost my balance, and gracefully landed on my fucking face," Harvey said sarcastically.

Jasper chuckled lightly and tucked a strand of hair behind Harvey's ear. Harvey leaned into Jasper's cold touch, liking the way the cold seeped into his skin.

Before they knew it the bell rang, and they made their way out of the room.

"Jasper, you're parents are like, so fucking loaded," Harvey said, eyes wide at the assortment of expensive cars that all belonged to the Cullen's/Hale's.

"Uh yeah, let's get going," Jasper suggested, opening the passenger side door for Harvey.

"Such a gentleman," Harvey teased lightly.

"Of course darlin'," Jasper said with a sarcastic smirk. Harvey was beginning to like this side of Jasper Hale.

Harvey climbed in, Jasper following suit. Harvey gave Jasper the directions to his house and as soon as they got there Harvey grabbed Jasper's hand and practically dragged him upstairs.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" Jasper asked chuckling.

"Because I don't want to run into Bella or my dad," Harvey said once they got in his room.

They began doing the homework and Harvey noticed how Jasper was still as a rock other than his hand moving to write stuff down.

He's not breathing. Harvey realized, keeping this information to himself.

"You're staring darlin'," Jasper said with a smirk. Harvey's eyes held a mischievous glint.

"Oh please, that's mild compared to what you do in class. It's like you're taking off my clothes with your eyes," Harvey replied sarcastically.

"It's not my fault you're so gorgeous, it's hard to keep my eyes, much less my hands, off of you," Jasper whispered. Harvey smirked and leaned close to Jasper.

"Are you trying to seduce me, cowboy? Cause if so, it's working," Harvey whispered in the other boy's ear before pulling away, seeing how Jasper's eyes widened.

"God, you are so easy to tease," Harvey said laughing.

"You're the worst."

the reason Harvey noticed Jasper wasn't breathing is that I've decided that Jasper hasn't completely mastered the art of pretending to be human.
