Harvey chucked an orange at Mike Newton. That was the highlight of his day.
Why, you may be asking, well because he said the Cullen's were freaks. Harvey would not tolerate the slander of his friends.
Harvey had been dragged into going to La Push and the topic somehow got turned to the Cullen's.
"Ow! Why are you defending them?" Mike asked, rubbing his sore face.
"Because they're my friends you dickbag," Harvey scoffed, storming away. Bella ran after him and put a hand on his shoulder, causing him to immediately shake it off.
"I'm sorry about Mike, he can be an asshole sometimes," Bella apologized.
"I don't understand why you choose to be friends with that group, the only decent one is Angela," Harvey muttered.
"Don't talk bad about my friend group, you don't get to do that," Bella said, slightly angry.
"Oh really now! And they get to talk shit about mine?" Harvey asked angrily. This was one of the times his short fuse was getting in the way of his life.
"I never said that-"
"Oh save it, Bella, I'm done with trying to be nice and trying to spend time with you, and then it goes to shit. If you want to fix our broken family like you claim then stop being such a bitch!" Harvey yelled, walking away furiously.
Was that uncalled for? Yes. Was he gonna regret it later? Probably. Did he regret it in the moment? Hell no.
As he stormed away to the closest road he noticed an expensive car and a familiar blonde waiting there.
"Please tell me you didn't follow me," Harvey said deadpan.
"No darlin', I was birdwatching and I heard you and your sister fighting," Jasper explained.
"You bird watch? You learn something new every day I guess," Harvey muttered.
"Do you wanna ride with me? I can drive you to your house if you want," Jasper offered, earning a light smile from the previously angry boy.
"Thanks, can I just ride with you for a bit? I don't want to go home yet," Harvey asked, slightly nervous.
"Of course darlin'," Jasper said, pushing open the passenger door for Harvey. Jasper started driving and Harvey relaxed into the comfortable seat of the Volvo. He noticed Jasper's sleeves were pulled up all the way to his hands. He also noticed how he was wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap.
"Jasper," Harvey started, getting ready to ask the question that had been on his mind ever since the two boys met.
"Yes, darlin'?"
"What are you?" Harvey asked. Jasper's jaw tightened and his grip on the steering wheel turned his knuckles white.
"I don't know what you mean," he replied, acting dumb.
"You're not human, I know that. So what are you?" Harvey asked, 99% confident that he was right and not wrong and looked like a crazy person.
"How did you know?" Jasper asked with a sigh. Harvey chuckled lightly.
"You're unearthly beautiful, your skin looks like marble, and your skin is ice cold. Not that I'm complaining, it's nice when I have a fever," Harvey informed. "So, what are you?"
"Take a guess," Jasper said, smiling slightly.
"Not a werewolf, you wouldn't be cold then, vampire?" Harvey asked, getting a nod from the blonde.
"That's so fucking awesome," Harvey said.
"You should be terrified of me, you should be screaming right now," Jasper said incredulously.
"I'm not scared of you cowboy," Harvey said like it was obvious.
"Do you not know what dietary needs I have?" Jasper asked, pulling to a stop.
"Blood, that would be suspicious in such a small town though?" Harvey said, wording it like a question.
"My family and I like to call ourselves vegetarians. We only drink animal blood," Jasper explained.
"But still, I have a thirst for human blood, I have a thirst for your blood," Jasper said, frustrated at how easily Harvey was taking this.
"My blood specifically?" Harvey asked with his eyebrow raised.
"Your blood, it's sweet, addictive. Yet, I don't want to sink my teeth into your throat as much as I do your sister," Jasper said, his voice barely above a whisper. "You should be running by now."
"Jasper, I won't ever run from you-"
"Don't say that. It isn't necessarily true," Jasper grumbled. "I'm stronger than fifty grown men, I'm faster than a plane, I thirst for human blood and I lack self-control."
"I trust you," Harvey said, and it was undeniably true. He didn't know why he trusted the blonde, however, but there wasn't a bone in his body that thought Jasper would hurt him.
"You shouldn't," Jasper stated, moving closer to the black-haired boy. "Hearing your pulse right now, smelling your blood, it would drive my kind crazy."
Jasper's mouth was now barely hovering over where Harvey's pulse was strongest in his neck, but instead of pushing the blonde away or covering his neck, Harvey out of reflex moved his chin up to allow Jasper more access.
"Jasper, you could do whatever you wanted to me and I wouldn't complain," Harvey said truthfully. He didn't know why he trusted this man so much, he could easily kill Harvey if he wanted to. Despite this, Harvey felt no fear and his statement was definitely true.
Jasper's lips connected with Harvey's throat and the blonde expected Harvey to back away or do something, anything that showed discomfort, but Harvey's pulse quickened and excitement was radiating off of him, something both boys were confused about.
Jasper didn't move at all, he stayed with his lips locked onto Harvey's throat and his left hand resting beside Harvey's thigh while the right one was holding the shorter boy's neck, his thumb situated on Harvey's Adam's apple.
There were many things Jasper could do to harm Harvey, he could bite into his neck, or he could crush his windpipe, neither of which the blonde found appealing. No, he wanted to kiss the raven-haired boy, he wanted to kiss him till he couldn't breathe.
But how could he tell him that, or do that, when they've only known each other for two weeks? He knew they were meant to be with each other, but Harvey did not. He didn't want to scare the boy away, he'd rather him run when he finds out he isn't human.
"I should get you home," Jasper said after he pulled away, getting a small sigh of disappointment from the shorter boy because of the sudden distance between the two.
"Alright, cowboy."
