Steve pulls the door of his new home closed. He smiles walking down the concrete steps and onto the sidewalk. He takes in the city around him, it's not New York... it's not Brooklyn. But he'd move anywhere to be with her.
"I'm sorry Nat, I told you... I'm going to do anything I can to keep her. I lost her once I won't do it again."
Natasha laughs. "Yeah I know, we'll miss you around here big guy."
"You mean you."
"Yeah." She sighs."I'll send you the documents to make it official. All you have to do is sign. And you'll get your pager back. You're not allowed to retire. I hope Julie knows that."
"I'll tell her, but not today. Not after last night." Steve's smile fades. Watching her fall apart last night was rough, all he could was hold her and help clean up and show her he isn't going anywhere. So much so that when he rolled out of bed a few hours ago, the first thing he did was look for jewelers who would buy her old ring so he could buy her a new one.
"Be strong for her."
"Always. Alright, I'll call you later. I need to come up one day soon to get the rest of my stuff but not now. She needs me here." Steve states as he stands outside Defenders, where Juliette sits alone at the bar. A bottle sitting in front of her and an empty glass resting against her temple.
"Give her a hug for me, and tell her to call me." Natasha states. Wishing she could help Julie is some way, but Tony seems to have all that covered.
Steve opens the door to the bar and ends the call. He shoves the phone in his pocket as she looks up. Having heard his voice. He walks up to her, catching her as she flies into his arms.
"Hi Sweetheart."
Juliette buries her face in his chest, pressing her nose into him as much as she can, trying to fill her senses with him. "Hi."
His fingers dig into her hair while he breathes her in. "What's going on?"
Juliette inhales deeply, her hands slip under the back of his shirt, seeking skin. "I talked to the police again."
"What did they say?" He asks against the top of her hair.
"Take me home first. I need to get out of here."
"Ok." Steve nods and leads her home after locking the bar behind her. He holds her close, as he walks with her. Juliette reminds silent, unsure how she's supposed to tell Steven what the detectives said.
How could Landon even for a moment think they were still together. He knows she wants to be with Steven, so why would he tell the cops that. Unless he's jealous, and wanted to hurt her. So he destroys the bar to get back at her for picking Steven then lies about their relationship to make it seem like he'd never do anything to hurt her.
None of that makes sense.
She was so lost in her own head that she didn't realize they were home until Steve lead her up the stairs and unlocked their front door.
"Why don't you go sit down and relax." He kisses her forehead. "I'll make dinner or we can order out." He doesn't want her any more stressed than she already is. Aside from dinner, he plans on getting her in the large jet bathtub she has in the master bathroom before he ravages her.
She lifts an eyebrow and smirks. "Steve Rogers wants to cook dinner? Who are you and what have you done with my Captain?"
His eyes darken, as he looms over her. "Your Captain?" His tongue darts across his bottom lip, tempting her. His index finger slides down the column of her throat to the top of cleavage.
