"Can you hear them." I asked

"Hear what?" He asked

"The ghosts of newlyweds past." I said

"No. What are they saying?" He said

"Well, the groom, he's saying... come on, honey." I said

"You've been in the bathroom for two hours now." I said in a man's voice

"It's time to come to bed. You're my wife." I laughed

"What does the bride say?" He asked

"Well, the bride is saying, um... but you haven't even kissed me yet." I said

He moves closer to me smashing his lips onto mine and I kissed him back.

I put my hands on his arm as he put his hands on my face.

I moved my hands upto his neck and felt my heart racing.

We grabbed our things and walked back to his car we hopped in.

It was now dark by the time I made it back to my house.

I unbuckled my belt and then I looked over at him as he smiled.

"Okay." I said

"You want me to walk you to your door so your parents don't think I'm a... taxidermist?" He asked

"What?" I laughed

"Or like someone... a serial killer?" He said

"That's okay. Um, they're not my parents, actually." I said

"I, uh... I'm just a kid that lives under their roof." I said

"Oh who are they?" He said

"Yeah, it's, uh... it's a long story they are my older brothers though." I said

"For another time." He smiled

"When can I see you again?" He asked me

Um well, when are you back in Los Angeles?" I asked

"End of the month." He said

"And how long are you gonna be here for?" I asked

"The whole summer." He said

"I'm going to be staying with my grandpa until I leave for Harvard." He said

"You're going to Harvard? What?" I said

"I just kissed an Ivy League bro?" I asked

"Is your street cred ruined?" He asked me

"Only if you tell me that you're also a lifeguard." I said

"Yeah." He said

"Are you serious?" I asked

"Mm-hmm." He said

"About two years now at this beach in my town." He said

"No! Why?" I asked

He kissed my lips passionately again and I kissed him back.

He pulled away smiling and I couldn't help but smile back at him.

"Good night." I smiled

"Good night." He said

I got out of the car and walked inside as tears fell down my cheeks.

I walked upstairs to my room as tears kept falling down.

"Do I need to Kick this guys ass?" Nathan and Brian said

"No, she's just scared." Eric and Jacob said

"Why?" Nathan said

"Because she's falling in love." Rafe said sighing

"Nope. Not gonna happen." Brian said crossing his arms

"She's too young. And if he hurts her she will go over the edge." Nathan said angrily

I got into my pjs and laid down on my bed and then I groaned.

I got under the covers as I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

One month later...

It's been a month since I've been with Dawson and things were perfect.

Today was Fourth of July and I was talking with my friends as he was on the phone.

"Well, happy Fourth of July." Kasey said sighing

"I don't know, I actually like this weather." I laughed

"Don't call me." I hear him say

"So, you think this means the fireworks are gonna be cancelled." Tristan said

"I think so, yeah." I said

"Yeah." Kasey said

"Hey." I smiled as he walked over to us

"Hey." He said

"Dawson I hear your going to be going to Harvard congrats." Kasey says

"Thank you." He says

"What are you going to study." She asked

"Probably Spanish and other languages." he said

"That'll come in handy." Tristan said

"You never know if your gonna need it or someone needs help." I said

"Or need to help with an exorcism." Kasey says

"Nice. That's nice." Dawson says

"I don't know. I just don't want to have any regrets, you know." He said

"I wanna live a bunch of different lives." He said

"What's the point of learning languages if you don't wanna travel the world and use them." He says

"Let's go." Kasey says to Tristan

"We are going to watch the fireworks on tv." She said

"Are your parents home." She said walking away

"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked

"Not really." He sighed

"Okay." I smiled

He wrapped his arms around my waist as he kissed my forehead.

"My mum filed for divorce today." He said sadly

"I'm really sorry." I sighed

"You know, I know this doesn't help right now, but.. just because they're splitting up that doesn't mean they don't care or love each other." I said

"It means they've given up." He said

"I don't think that's fair." He said

"Fair to who? You or them?" I asked

"When you're rowing a race and you get to the last 20 meters.. your entire body is telling you to stop." He said

"Your muscles are on fire. Your lungs are screaming at you." He continues

"Everything inside you wants to quit, make the pain go away." He said

"But if you want to win, that's exactly when you dig deeper and you row harder." He says

"You really don't like to let things go, do you?" I asked

"You noticed?" He asked

I laughed as I kissed his lips softly and he kissed me back.

The fireworks went off as he smiled and wrapped his arms around me again.

He kissed my forehead as I put my hand on the back of his neck.

"You're just starting to make me believe in happy endings." I smiled

We spent the entire night just hanging out as we had watched the fireworks.

I took him back to my room to look at my red room as he kissed me.

He smashed his lips onto mine and then I kissed him back.
