GOING BACK inside of the schoolhouse with Theodore put Juliette in the center of attention, curiosity was seen on her classmates faces, and whispers were to be heard.

The whole situation was probably the most uncomfortable thing she'd ever experienced, but thank the heavenly above that the bell rang in time for her to escape the embarrassment.

Soon she sat down by Prissy and watched Mr. Phillips write on the chalkboard.

Julie looked over at Theodore, seeing that he had been staring at her for a while.

He smiled at her.

She felt her heart skip beats, was he always this charming?

Mr. Phillips announced a poem to the class as he stood beside Prissy Andrews, giving her a look that made Julie want to throw up.

Glad i missed out on this when i was gone.

Diana was called upon to read from the poem. Then the redhead was brought up next. Once Mr. Phillips said the strangers name, it stuck with Julie. Anne, the sweet girl she met earlier. Well, maybe not met fully.

Anne had no issues with reading the poem, but what left Julie concerned was when Anne started reading the poem dramatically. It was like she was playing the poem out. Everyone besides Gilbert, Theodore, Julie and Diana erupted into laughter. She felt bad for Anne as she sat back down quietly and stared at her books.

poor girl.
                                             ———

After the drastically boring lesson from Mr. Phillips was over, lunch break had arrived. She felt herself relax as the previous lesson felt like an eternity; Mr. Phillips sure knew how to bore.

Julie looked over at Anne, who looked quite lonely by her desk. Deciding that she should get to know her, she got up from her desk and walked up to Anne.

''Hey, i'm sorry for not introducing myself earlier,'' Julie sat down on the edge of Anne's desk and smiled at the girl before continuing, ''I'm Juliette Blythe.'' She put out her hand to Anne, and she shook it.

''I'm Anne Shirley.'' She replied, and the two girls smiled at each other.

''I have to check up on my brother,'' She grabbed an apple from her lunchbox and began walking. ''Care to join?'' She looked over at the redhead and watched as the girl eagerly got up and went with her.

''Gilbert!'' Julie called out to her brother and he soon walked up to the two girls. Julie watched how her brother suddenly got intrigued by Anne and smiled.

''Here,'' Julie held out the apple to her brother, ''I forgot to pack an apple for you.''

Gilbert took the apple from his sisters hand. ''Thanks for the apple.'' He smiled as he waved the apple, she nodded a you're-welcome.

Gilbert smiled at Anne before walking away.

Anne and Julie decided to chat with the other girls. She thought that she could make the girls change their opinions about Anne, she really hoped. But she set her expectations too high when her hopes were quickly put down the second Josie frowned.

''Julie, no offense but she can't be here.'' Josie pointed at Anne, and Julie felt her frustration build up.

''What? Why not?'' Diana questioned.

''She has been talking to Gilbert! You know darn well that Ruby has liked Gilbert for three years, she even called dibs on him!'' Josie stated.
