THE FOLLOWING MONTHS, Julie had lost count of how many had come with their condolences to the Blythe siblings. It was like a constant reminder, that they had lost the most important person in their lives. Their young lives.
''Dad, i don't know what to do anymore.'' Julie said as she sat on the bench by his grave, looking at the stone in front of her. She had spent a lot of her time by his grave since his passing, which made many feel more pity for the poor Blythe girl.
''I just.. i miss you. Me and Gilbert. And its just so hard.'' She said as she looked down at the white snow in front of her.
''I wish you were here with us, i love you.'' She sighed and looked at the grave. The nagging reminder that he wasn't there.
''Mon belle? You must be freezing, what are you doing out here?'' A familiar voice said, it brought her comfort just by hearing it.
''Im fine, Jerry.'' She said and looked at him as he sat down beside her on the bench.
His eyebrows deepened a little as he looked at the stone in front of them, before looking at her again.
''What are you doing here?'' She asked quietly after a moment of silence.
''I heard about your father, mon belle.'' Jerry said and placed a gentle hand on hers.
Silence, once again fell upon them. But it was a comforting silence; like being sung or read a fairytale to as a kid before bedtime, the comforting feeling of almost falling asleep.
Their two hands interlocked and stayed like that for a while. Though no words were said, the comforting silence and exchanged looks were more than enough.
''Thank you.'' She spoke, with that his eyes softened as he looked into hers.
(Authors note: sorry for the short chapter, i've been busy with my love life and yeah. Spoiler alert: i got played 🥰, so i've been trying to get past it.)
