Nala's pov:

I ended up falling asleep in Toshi's room after explaining the nightmare. When I woke up, I went to my room and got ready for school. I couldn't miss anymore days, even though Dad wanted me to stay home. I wanted to go, so when I got ready, I left for school. I met up with Jackson, who greeted me with a smile.

"What's got you so happy today?" I ask.

"Nothin', just your adorable face." He says, making me blush.

"Wha- Jackson! Knock it off!" I shout at him, trying to hide my blush. He just smiles at me.

"Ha! Look! It's the school's whore!" I hear someone shout from behind me. My heart drops as I look back to see Josh's cold eyes staring at me. "Slept with the teacher to get a better grade!" He added.

"What the fuck did you just say?!" Jackson shouted in my defense.

"You heard me." He smirked at us.

"Jackson, It's fine, just let him believe what he wants. We know the truth." I try to calm him down. He just sighed, before leaving Josh standing there laughing with a bunch of his friends.

"I swear if he says one more damn thing." Jackson grumbled to himself.

"I'm fine, really." I say, lightly punching him in the shoulder. He looked down at me and smiled.

"If you say so."

We went to class, and I guess I hadn't realized it yet, but Mr. Lienam was still teaching, until he was locked up. As soon as our eyes met I started having trouble breathing.

"J-Jackson, I-I can't do this." I manage to stutter out. He grabs my waist and pulls me close to him.

"I love you, and will be there for you no matter what. Got it?" He said sternly. I was still shaky, but nodded.

"I love you too."

We took our seats, and Jackson helped me get through the first half of the day. However, I started feeling really anxious at lunch.

"Jackson I think I'm going to go to the bathroom." I say as I hurriedly get up and rush to the bathroom. I had only eaten a little, but that was enough. I threw up my small lunch, and sat on the floor shivering, when there was a knock.

"Nala, you in there?" Jackson's voice comes through the door. I get up and open it, and he gives me a concerned look. "Are you okay? You're pale, and sweaty." He asks, pointing out how awful I look.

"Yeah, 'M fine." I say wiping my mouth and following him back to the cafeteria.
