Eve was back in Velaris. For an indefinite time. She had come back on the request of its High Lady and Lord. With barely three days since she had kissed Azriel. Gods, it had been the best feeling in the world. But the reason she was here was not because of the starry, hazel-eyed male but because Nesta needed help.

Azriel on the other hand, hadn't been able to stop smiling since that outing. He had, like a proper gentle-male, escorted Eve back to her apartment before leaving for Velaris. His brothers had teased him relentlessly since; each and every person shocked at his brighter self. Bets were won, incessant teasing had taken place, her thoughts had indulged him more.... Gods, he had kissed his mate. Kissed Eve. His shadows too danced around more- refusing to listen to him like a child bent on annoying their guardian.

But, back to the present, Azriel was standing, wreathed in his shadows, watching Eve as she got more and more agitated. Just this morning, hours before, he and Rhys had gone to Summer to convince her to come back. Eve had agreed instantly, making him adore her more. Though, he was finding the situation at hand extremely unpleasing, he was glad she was back. In Velaris he could see her everyday and make sure no strangers made her life frightening with threats and mysterious notes.

So, here she was, sitting on the couch, glaring at Cassian. "You cannot possibly agree with them!" she exclaimed. He didn't reply, a hard look on his face. "For fucks sake, this will not end well! Am I the only one seeing the rational sides of things! Nesta will not appreciate this intervention!"

"Well, she should have thought about that before she went and got drunk along with half of Velaris!" Rhys snarled. Eve snarled right back, "I am not saying she doesn't need help. I am saying that she doesn't need all of us here, judging when Feyre breaks the news. And she doesn't need someone ransacking her apartment either!"

"I am not leaving Feyre alone with her," Rhys said with contempt. "Feyre can take care of herself. Besides, Nesta loathes you. You really think your over-bearing nature will be helpful?" Rhys snarled, darkness gathering around him. Feyre put her hand on his arm, trying to calm him down while Azriel prepared himself to be put between the two if need be.

"Look," Eve started, taking in a calming breath, "all I am saying is let it be only Cassian and Feyre present in the room when you break the news. Then ask her- or tell her- that someone will shift her stuff to the House of the Wind. There is no need for us to act like barbarians."

"I am not leaving Feyre with only Cassian, no offense," he replied. "She is my sister! She won't harm me," Feyre finally snapped even if she was a bit unsure. Rhys only scoffed. "Fine! Then add Amren to the lot!" Eve said, exasperated, and gestured towards the once silver-eyed demon who was now sitting cross legged on the couch, watching with raised brows. "Not enough," Rhys said, not budging. "The High Lord and Lady will be present along with the Second-in-command and the general of the armies of the Night. Azriel will be present in the shadows. She spent a fortune last night and made my mate cry, she deserves this kind of intervention." Eve scoffed as something heavy started building up in her chest. "No one enters her apartment without her permission," she said quietly.

Elain who had been watching from the side lines, scoffed. "And who are you to decide that?" "A decent being," Eve snapped. "I am going and shifting her things, she barely has any and lives in that excuse of an apartment- she won't even care," Elain replied. Eve gave out a disbelieved laugh. "Won't care? Won't care? Gosh, could you all be any dumber? How would you feel if someone broke into your house?"

"Concerned, because we put much effort and money into making it safe," Rhys replied. Eve snarled, tears building in her eyes. "You have no idea how she feels." "Enlighten us," Rhys snapped. Azriel growled in warning.
