Korg

While watching The Mandalorian, I came to this realization: IG-11 and Korg are both played by Taika Waititi. Korg could, logically, cross over into the Mandalorian universe. And then, I came to the other logical conclusion that Paz Viszla is actually Korg somehow. What a genius I am.

While I will be forgoing the Paz Viszla-Korg connection, I will not be ignoring IG-11 and Korg. So I gift you (and mostly myself) this.

Din Djarin was having a day. Every day had been a day. It had been a long while since a day had just been a day. Probably since he'd adopted a small green menace by the name of Grogu.

He was currently in a bit of a predicament, having just been ambushed by a few of Bo-Katan's Nite Owls in poor, unsuspecting Peli Motto's hangar. He hadn't had time to hand the kid off to Peli before he took off running. He'd hoped he'd be able to leave the Nite Owls behind, running through the cramped in-betweens of Mos Eisley, but they kept chasing him.

He kept Grogu in the little bag on his hip, hoping he wasn't getting bounced around too much by all the action. The kid seemed to be enjoying it, though. Din wasn't exactly the best role model.

Din was looking behind him, blaster in hand, when he slammed into a wall of rock. There was a resounding ring of beskar that rattled his brain in his head. He stepped backwards and nearly fell when a heavy hand settled on his shoulder.

"Sorry, mate! I didn't see you there," The... rock guy in front of him said, steadying him by the shoulders. The Nite Owls were still firing at him, and they were getting closer. Quickly. The rock guy seemed unconcerned. "It seems you are in a gunfight and being chased by some angry people. Would you like me to watch your child for you?"

The rock guy was pointing at Grogu now, who looked up at Din and cooed. Din, being too rushed to worry and for some reason sensing that he could trust him, tugged Grogu out of his satchel and pressed him into the rock guy's arms. "Keep him safe."

"Sure. My name's Korg, by the way."

Din stepped away from Korg, patting Grogu on the head once more. "Korg. Thank you."

He then jogged towards the market square, leading the two Nite Owls away from Korg and around a corner. Korg called out, "Good luck with the people trying to shoot you!"

Din tried not to think about the fact that he just left his highly valuable child with a rock man named Korg. Instead, he thought about the two Nite Owls trying to kill him. Korg seemed trustworthy enough.
