12: the fair

After like thirty tries I finally won that stupid dinosaur stuffed anilmal. I carried it on my shoulder because it was half of Jos' size. Then we went to the petting zoo. It smelled like balls. When we passed the ducks Jos stopped and started puppy dog eyeing the ducklings. "Look at the cute baby ducks!!" Jos exclaimed. "Hey take this and go get some cotton candy I'll catch up with you" i said handing her 5 bucks. " ok!" Jos said. When she left I snuck to the petting zoo office and asked if the ducklings were for sale. They were so I bought one and hid it in my jacket. When I saw Jos I went up to her from behind. " special delivery" I said. She turned around and dropped her cotton candy. " you didn't!" She exclaimed, " yes I did" I replied. She held the duck and started holding it like a baby. " Wait, I don't even have room for a duck at my house," she said, concerned . " It's fine she can stay at my house" I said regretfully. " Really?'' she said. " yup" I said again. She hugged me tightly making sure not to crush the duck. "Wait, how do you know it's a girl? It's a boy..." Jos asked, staring at the duck. "What do you mean? How can YOU tell?" I asked. She laughed and then looked concerned. "You are kidding...Right?" My face turned red and I just awkwardly laughed. "Haha ya yup mhm". " What a sheltered child" Jo said laughing. We realized it was dark and the only thing we could see was the Ferris wheel lighting up. " Hey, we should go on the Ferris wheel,'' I suggested. She grinned so wide and grabbed my hand, taking off towards the glowing lights. I could feel my face turning red but I just smiled and let her pull me there. We stood in the small line for a minute before the people before us were able to load on and we got in a car. By ourselves. (And the duckling) Jos looked down below. " I've had so much fun today," Jos said. " Yeah, me too," I replied, gazing into her eyes. I put my hand next to me on the seat but I didn't realize her hand was already there and I almost pulled it away but something told me I shouldn't and she just smiled at me. As we reached the full height of the Ferris wheel Jos put her head on my shoulder. I put my arm on her shoulder and just breathed. Everything felt still. Jos picked up her head and turned to me. "This is nice... you and me together... we should do this more often." She said. My stomach flipped and all of the worries of her not liking me were gone. I knew things were nailed down. " Jos, do you wanna date? We could do this more often every weekend maybe." She smiled at me and said "that seems like a lot but it also sounds great." I didn't know how to feel. She always made me nervous and now I felt excited. " Thank you" she said. " for what?" I asked. " this" she said. And with that she kissed me I kissed back. I put my hand on her face and pushed some hair that was in her face behind her ear. The kiss was soft. I loved it. Jos had always made me feel comfort. My mind started racing with thoughts of me and Jos being together. I almost forgot we were kissing. But reality soon came about when the guy opened the cart door. " get a room and get out" he said, covering his eyes. " sorry" me and Jos said faces red from embarrassment. Jos once again grabbed my hand and led me out of the cart. We walked to the car still holding hands. We finally let go and hopped in the car. "What now?" I asked. She hasn't stopped smiling all day. She started to say something but her phone rang. She grabbed it and her face melted into a look of horror as she just stared at her phone.
