POV Dexter

Frostbourne is gone, The nether swarmed in, Patrick's dead. he thought the nether queen one on one and was beaten, Azura was taken prisoner probably a nether kin by now, Stella stayed behind, distracting the nether why we ran, Hilda was hit by a ghast as we retreated, she's not dead, but...she was in a coma, she hasn't woken up.

after days of travel, we finally found some abandoned tunnels, we set up base, Lyria my young sister hadn't taken it all too well, Azura was her inspiration and Hilda was the closes we had to family in Frostbroune.

now it was just me and Daryll left in command, there were less than 100 of us left now, here in these tunnels, me and Daryll found the closes we could to a war room, and Lyria was keeping herself busy, she was noting down who else had made.

Daryll sighed, "What the fuck are we meant to do? the dreadfort is gone, Patrick, Azura gone, what do we do?" Daryll asked.

"We fight, someone has to stop the nether," I answered.

"ARE YOU INSANE!" Daryll snapped, "We've lost everything to them and you want to carry on fighting them?" he asked.

"yes, If we just lay down and give up, then the nether wins, and I can't let the nether win, no matter what," I argued back.

Daryll looked at the door, "I'm leaving," he said going towards the door, "I'm not staying here to die,"

I pulled my gun on him before he could take more than a few steps. Daryll froze his hand hovering over his pistol, "I can't let you leave Daryll," I said.

Daryll's eyes narrowed and he pulled his mask up with his spear hand, "You don't want to do this, put your gun down," Daryll said.

we stared each other down, Daryll was quicker than me with his gun, easily able to take me, but I had the advantage, then the door opened, and in a heartbeat, I was distracted as Lyria walked in, I turned to her. then bang.

Daryll's bullet impacted my shoulder, I fell back to the floor, "DEXTER!" Lyria called rushing over to me, she put pressure on my wound, "Hold on," she said.

Daryll holstered his pistol, "Dex you have spirit, but not even you can win this war, run why you can," He walked towards the door.

I raised my gun in my unharmed arm, and fired my gun, Daryll stopped on the spot, the bullet impacted the back of his head, "Good shot," he mumbled before falling over, he was dead, so very dead.

I held Lyria tight, "We...we can't tell anyone Lyria, no one can know about this, If...If anyone asks, Daryll died of injuries from the battle," I said.

"But...But that means lying," Lyria said.

"Lyria we have to keep this a secret, no one can know, this is between us, you understand," I said.

Lyria looked disturbed, but nodded,  "What do we do now?" She asked.

I stood up, "we fight, and we continue to fight, make the nether pay for every life they've taken,"

that was 5 years ago, 5 long years of hell none stop fighting, the loss of friends, and we've taken nothing back, nothing at all, the only allies we had was the nether bane, and the nether king killed them himself.

so you can imagine how surprised I was, 5 years after I shoot him, Daryll stepped out of that blue box that appeared from nowhere, with Lyria, Azura, an enderkin who were meant to be extinct, and a man dressed for an evening sport of some kind.

so I had them looked up, Not Lyria nor Azura, but the other three, I wasn't risking it, Azura was in a real state, she was resting, already asleep, I had Alice one of my guards keeping an eye on her in case.

I was in what passed for a war room, Lyria with me, "Dex you can trust them, That doctor he saved me,"

I sighed, "Have that Daryll brought here, I want to know what's going on," I ordered, Lyria slimed at me and left the room, as she did, Jackson, one of the few people here I still trusted, "If I give the word....kill them all three of them," I ordered.
