"I couldn't cry anymore, my tears had stopped coming out, and I'm breaking inside. "
17 years ago, Someone entered our house. We heard a noise coming from the kitchen, then I heard something break. A glassware I think. I felt Mama moved beside me, seems like she also heard it, I'm half awoke and Mama got up and went to our drawer and I saw her get a gun. I continued to pretend that I'm asleep, she looked at me and said to stay here in our room. She slightly opened the door and peeked, slowly and quietly went outside and closed the door. I got up and get Mama's phone near our bed, I dialed the police's phone number and asked for help, they asked what happened and I said that someone had entered our house, they asked our address and how old I am and my name, I answered them, then a gun shot,they said they'll be here as soon as possible. I hanged up and held Mama's phone tightly.
I opened the door slightly and peeked. I heard the slam of a door, I slowly and quietly go downstairs. I heard the cars and their lights passed our windows, I roamed my eyes around, mess. Mama's favorite vase, picture frames, plates. . . Blood. I rushed to see where the blood is coming and saw Mama's body. I heard the police entered our house. The moment they saw us, one of them quickly dialed an ambulance. Non stop tears flowing on my cheeks. That's my only memory of what happened that night.
They held a death ceremony for Mama. Too much for a 13 years old. I couldn't cry anymore, my tears had stopped coming out, and I'm breaking inside. She's the only one I have.
"Thanks for inviting me. Your nieces are so adorable. I got tired of playing with them." Looking at them. I sat beside him.
"Kids! Come inside, we're going to watch a movie!" It's Tita Alexis,
"Yay! Mommy I want to watch Peter Pan!" Said Sav, Tita Alexis carried her, she smiled at us. "Again?! I'm tired of watching that movie! Mom let's watch transformers!" Said Gab, Tita Alexis answered him with a smile and walked towards the door. Sav sticked her tongue out and Gab frowned.
"Sav loves Peter Pan. She says she wants to go to Neverland and she never wants to grow up. And, I think she hates Wendy and Jane for being close to Peter Pan." I laughed.
"Bet, Sav wants Peter Pan to get her too and take her to Neverland, right?" I said to him.
"Yep. Ate Alexis said to me that Sav said to her that she wants to fight Hook and go on to many adventures to Neverland, which only exist in our imagination. Sad."
"I remembered the young me. I too wished to go to Neverland. But then when Mama bought me a Beauty & The Beast movie back then, I forgot about Peter Pan and about me wishing to go to Neverland."
"And. . . I once dreamt of having my own fairy tale, my own prince."
"Then, I grew up. Many things had happened. . . I realized that we live in a cruel world, and I'm so innocent, so young, so naive back then." He hugged me. I closed my eyes and rested my head on his shoulder.
"What If Mom had never bought me that movie and I continued wishing, hoping, that Peter Pan would come and get me and he did." I opened my eyes and met his gaze. "It's a 'what if' and only exist in my imagination and if that happened I wouldn't met you." I smiled at him and gave him a passionate kiss. I felt his love. He stopped and looked at me "91225, my love. Will you. . ."
Hi Mama, look at me now. This guy, in front of me, loves me so much and I love him too. We're going to commit ourselves. Our 9 years boyfriend and girlfriend relationship will finally come to an end. We'll be husband and wife. Together with our future kids, and our future grandchildren.
This love, our love made us stronger. Mama, it's because of you. You taught me how and what is love.
Mama, even though I can't see you. . . I know that you're always there. Guiding me. Keeping me safe. I always felt your presence. And right now, I now that you're walking with me.
I love you, Mama. Always in my heart.
