In this one, Y/N is a writer, and working at the tavern is how they initially met Diluc :D

You sighed, pushing your glasses up your nose as you dipped your pen in some ink again. You wondered if you could just skip this whole reading part of editing a book. Of course, you loved books. You loved everything about them. From how the ink smells when you put it down on parchment to the fine, leather cover of it when you finish. And you appreciated how writing them made your creative mind run wild. Sometimes, you'd even let yourself get lost in the world of magic and technologies.
Sitting in the tavern, when the people were leaving was your favourite way to work. And this way, you got to see your favourite person as well. Until closing time, that is. And if you were lucky, after that even. You were so deep in your thoughts, you didn't even hear the shout from the other side of the tavern. Only when you heard a wine glass drop did you look up. And just as you expected, it was the two brothers bickering again, with a certain fiery, red-haired man holding a glass of wine bottle out of his brother's grasp.
His brother, who happened to be the captain of the Knights of Favonius always seemed to have a rather interesting taste for alcohol. Kaeya Alberich was his name. He was the type of guy that everyone seemed to love. Confident, skilled, and quite attractive you had to admit. With his smooth, dark-coloured skin, and clever gaze, he could really make anyone swoon. Though you do prefer his brother, Diluc over the captain himself. Maybe it was because Diluc tended to match your quiet, yet passionate nature, preferring to listen to you talk about all your stories than to talk about himself.
"Get out of the tavern, Kaeya. If you throw up all over the floor later, I'm making you mop it."
"Aw, come on, Diluc!" Kaeya whined, swiping at the wine again. "But the puke is gonna be all dry and disgusting when I go and wipe it off!"
"That's exactly why I'm making you clean it." Diluc said nonchalantly, in his cold tone that you recognized too well.
"That's not–"
"Don't tell me what's nice and what's not." Diluc said again, with a tinge of annoyance this time. It was getting late, and he wanted to close. But most importantly, he wanted to come and talk to you before he closed.
Kaeya felt Diluc grab the back of his shirt, reaching back and kicking his brother's shin. "Hey, look. Y/N's there...they're looking right at you~ wanna go and make your move right now or–"
"Be quiet!" He snapped, kicking the tavern door open. With a swing of his arm, he threw the captain outside, slamming the door shut.
Only when you saw Kaeya get up and run from the window, you laughed, covering your mouth as you did so.
Diluc turned towards you at the sound of your laughter, fixing his clothing. "I apologize for that," he told you, starting to unbutton his coat. He slid it off his shoulders, throwing it onto a chair as he moved behind the counter.
"It's okay," you assured with a smile, turning back to your work, "if you would like, I can start packing up too. You seemed pretty eager to close–"
"No," he suddenly insisted, wringing out a cloth, "stay here."
"...Why? I actually still have some things to get to at home..."
"I'll quickly finish cleaning," Diluc started, "then you tell me about your stories like you always do, and then I can make sure you return home safely."
Amused, you crossed your arms. "Huh, so me telling you about my books are a must now?" You giggled, watching him shrug.
He hastily finished wiping the counter, throwing the rag aside and loosening his collar. "I suppose so," Diluc answered and started to move towards you. He pulled up a chair and sat, quickly fixing his ponytail. "What do you have for me today?"
"What if I told you that I have nothing?" You challenged, crossing your legs as you took another sip from your cup.
The other raised an eyebrow skeptically, nudging your shin with his foot. "I'm sure you have something. You always do. And if you had a whole day off today, you wouldn't be..." his expression suddenly laced with concern, "so drowsy."
At his words, you snorted, shaking your head. What did he expect? You would've guessed that he knew how tiring work can be. Especially since he worked at a tavern. When you glanced up again, Diluc was inspecting your face.
"Hm..." he hummed, "it looks like you haven't been sleeping well." He told you, placing a hand over his chin.
"I've been sleeping enough to get by."
"Please don't make excuses, Y/N," Diluc requested, resting the back of his hand over your forehead.
You felt yourself gulp, feeling his warm, heated hands against your skin.
"At least you don't have a fever." He sighed in relief, offering you a small smile.
"Yeah. I'm not sick, I promise," you smiled, taking his hand and directing it away from your face, "don't you want to listen to my–"
"Forget about it," he suddenly said, standing up, "let's take you home."
"Huh? You don't wanna listen to my story anymore?" You frowned, crossing your arms. How dare he!
"I...no, we'll walk you home and you can tell me about your book," he told you kindly, offering you a gloved hand of his, "and from there, I'm sure that new ideas will come to you in your sweetest dreams, Y/N."
