"Kaeya Alberich?" You mused, positioning a lemon on the edge of a drink, sliding it across the table to a man waiting. "I've heard plenty of things about him. Rather good things, if I'm being completely honest..."

Diluc, your companion, scowled. "You can only trust half of what he says."

"Really, now?" You placed a hand over your chin, thinking. "I've heard that he's quite the charm amongst Mondstadt's ladies. If I'm not mistaken, he's seen as a classic Prince Charming. Probably even more than you, Master Diluc."

"Now, I should be glad that your flattery can't be heard by him at the moment. Surely it would be quite a chore to have his ego boosted by you, Y/N."

"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" You giggled, leaning back against the counter, crossing your arms. "Anyone in my presence should be flattered." You fell silent for a while, watching Diluc welcome another guest along before speaking again. "Why're you telling me this, though?" You asked. "The Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius is surely something that I'd never dream of meeting."

"Well," Diluc frowned at the mention of the organization of knights. "Today happens to be the day where I would have to involuntarily...lend the Knights of Favonius my property. They've just finished an expedition to Dragonspine."

Diluc was certainly not fond of the Knights of Favonius. When you asked him, his answer was vague. Extremely vague. It certainly didn't surprise you anymore. Diluc wasn't the type of man to engage in small talk. Especially small talk about himself. But you were confused why he wasn't as thrilled as you were tonight. Even if he wasn't fond of the knights, he was still going to see his brother tonight. Wouldn't anyone be glad to see their family alive and well? Especially after venturing to such a dangerous region...

When the first of the knights started to come in, Diluc seemed beyond disappointed. You laughed at him, giving him a nudge. "Cheer up, carrot-top."

"Carrot-top..." Diluc grumbled, crossing his arms angrily. "Hmph."

"You're acting like a child, Master Diluc." You teased.

"This is not childish. It's completely valid." Diluc mumbled, growing even more tense as another knight entered the tavern. He was already starting to imagine the scene later tonight. Him having to drag the countless drunk men and women out of his tavern...then a mop in hand, cleaning the floor that they've all vomited on...closing late...

"Woah, wait–" you suddenly whispered, seeing the door open again. In came two other knights. These two seemed to be the better dressed out of all the knights here tonight. A man and a woman, both rather tall in terms of height. "Is that–"

"The Acting Grandmaster, Jean..." Diluc smiled. As soon as he made eye-contact with the young man, his face darkened again. "And the Cavalry Captain..."

"Kaeya?" You hissed, just when the room went silent to greet the captain and the grandmaster. You froze, holding up your hands. "Sorry."

Jean turned towards the sound of your voice, offering you a soft smile when you waved. Kaeya did the same, crossing his arms in response. He glanced at Diluc, raising an eyebrow. "Diluc's got a special someone now, hm?" He said playfully.

Seeing that the Cavalry Captain had taken interest in something else, the other knights started to laugh and talk again, forming their own groups of friends to socialize.

"Tsk. Cut the jokes, Kaeya." Diluc hissed, stepping back when the captain walked up to the counter.

"Aw..." Kaeya cooed, "come on, Diluc. I'm your cutest little brother. Don't I deserve a free drink?"

"Absolutely not."

Kaeya sighed, closing his eyes, shrugging. "Diluc's quite weird, isn't he? One of the few individuals that don't fall for my charm." He crossed his arms, turning to you with a small smile. "Am I right?"

Irritated, Diluc slammed a palm onto the table, leaning over the counter. "Are you serious, Kaeya? You've asked me if Y/N was my special person and now you try to get into their pants? What kind of person are you?!"

Taken aback, Kaeya placed a hand over his exposed chest, leaning backwards in the slightest. "Woah, woah, woah...Diluc. I never said I wanted to get in their pants, did I? What sort of things go through your head?"

Diluc grumbled.

"And they couldn't be your special person anyways, Diluc. I'd feel incredibly concerned for their...standards if they were..."

At that, you giggled, putting a hand over your mouth. Diluc didn't even bother to look at you. Kaeya, on the other hand, gave you a small, cheeky grin. "Diluc, don't be such a killjoy." You told him, gently kicking his foot.

"You two..." Diluc mumbled, angrily grabbing a towel from the counter. "Wanting to get handsy with each other already, huh?" He stormed away.

The captain cupped a hand over his mouth. "Jealous?"

"In your dreams!" Diluc snapped back, slamming the door as he disappeared into the tavern's basement.

Laughing, Kaeya turned to you, winking. "He's definitely jealous."

"Who wouldn't be?" You spoke nonchalantly, turning to grab a cup for Kaeya. "And as Diluc said, you're not getting a free drink."

"Aw come on." Kaeya leaned against the counter, looking you in the eye when you turned. "I'll treat you back~"

"With what money?" You asked, laughing. "And I wouldn't want a drunk man's money, thank you." You slid his beverage across the counter for him, crossing your arms. "You've got to try harder, sir."

Chuckling at your words, Kaeya shrugged. "Man, I don't know. Would me being your knight in shining armour, breaking you out of this little party and stargazing be more to your taste?" He smiled, watching you furrow your brows. "I thought so."
