Your POV
"Congrats on your recovery, Y/n-san. Are you excited to go back home?" My attending nurse greeted me as she was helping me pack my things.
"Hmm? Oh- uh, yeah." I said, unsure of how to respond while she just chuckled, saying that it's normal to feel unsure.
A knock on the door interrupted our little conversation and it was Akihiko who came and pick me up after filling out some forms for my release.
"Are you ready, hun?" He asked and I only nodded and thanked the nurse while he took my bags.
I recovered pretty well and I am now able to walk more freely without needing any support but I'm still a bit slow and I'd probably fall over if I force myself to run.
While we were in the car, I raised a question out of curiosity. I asked where were we going home and he replied that we lived in Hokkaido which was unusually far from the hospital I woke up to when I saw a few hospitals closer to our destination. They don't lack in terms of medical expertise and facilities so why?
"We're here, you can go inside first while I take out your bags." He said and I just followed.
It was a big and traditional house, not to mention, we are far from the other people so we don't have a neighbor. It isn't a house anymore, it's an estate.
As soon as I entered, I was greeted by someone that I don't know.
"My apologies for startling you madam, I am your family butler, Kenta. If you have anything that you need, please don't hesitate to call me." He said.
A butler?
"Uhm, can you show me where my room is?" I asked and he nodded and ushered me to the mater's room. There's a wide bed and a large closet but there was nothing inside of it.
No pictures of me or Akihiko together and I don't have a sense of nostalgia inside this house. How strange.
"Kenta, can I ask something?" I said as I look around.
"Of course" he replied
"How long have you been the butler of this house?" I asked and he told me that he's been here before I was even married to Akihiko.
"I see. Then that means you know a lot about Akihiko and myself, right?" I asked.
"It is as what you say, madam." He replied while I sat on the bed.
"What was I like before the accident?" I asked and he told me the most common answers such as being a caring wife so on and so forth but there was nothing more specific.
"Is there anything else that is more distinct?" I asked.
"I'm afraid it will trigger some emotional trauma inside the lady's mind so I'm not allowed to say. It's quite a sensitive topic." He said.
"It's fine, I can take it. I just want to know myself a bit more." I said with a smile.
He thought for a moment before finally answering my question hesitantly.
"The madam always wanted to be a mother" He said.
Sanzu's POV
It is the middle of the night at an expensive sauna where VIPs are only allowed to be in. We waited for a few days and monitored Kaito until it was finally time to capture him since Mikey is beginning to be impatient.
Thanks to Koko, we had no problems in making it inside the said sauna.
"Just as we planned." I said as I looked at Kakucho.
"Yeah" He said as we both nodded and took our plan to action.
I was the first one to enter inside while he guards the exit. We also had a few men outside just in case he slips away.
I soaked near our target who was enjoying his alcohol.
"Nothing completes a tiresome day with a relaxing soak at the hot spring along with sake, right?" I asked, gaining his attention.
The fog or the mist from the hot waters blurs my face from his drunken sight.
"You're absolutely right! This place has the best quality of sake in Miyagi. Here, drink with me." He said.
"It's fine, thank you. I still have a job to do." I said and he laughed.
"Since you're here, why not take a break eh? It doesn't hurt to take a few drinks. To be honest, I have many things to do too but here I am, relaxing." He said and sipped alcohol again.
"I see, what are things that you have to do?" I asked.
"Alright, I'll let you in a secret since it's just us here. I'm actually trying to get rid of a dog that my boss was keeping and be his right-hand man. It is unbelievable that they put me at the bottom of the rankings when I contribute the most so I just took out a few hurdles here and there so I'm only one step closer...hic. Here, take at least one drink and tell me your job too" He said and I agreed.
"Actually, my job is to catch a sly fox." I said as he was pouring on my cup. He chuckled before finally noticing the Bonten mark on my arm.
"Y-you!" He said before abruptly standing and stumbling out of the pool of water. I just sat still and drank the alcohol in my cup while he struggled to run.
He didn't succeed of course and bumped into Kakucho who was waiting. Kaito fell to the ground and clicked his tongue.
"Get out of the way!" He exclaimed and staggered when he stood. He tried to push Kakucho aside but with his intoxication, his strength was nowhere to be found.
He then realized the tattoo on Kakucho's chest and before he could even say a thing, I was already behind him and chopped his neck, knocking him unconscious.
"Now that the fox is in the trap, it's time to present what we hunted to the king." I said with a grin as I looked down at the unconscious enemy on the ground.
I walked out while Kakucho was responsible for carrying him. When we were exiting the hot spring, the owner who was at the reception bowed and greeted us goodbye.
This establishment is now a property of Bonten after all.
