"What do you find more scary?"
"Well, not being alone of course."
"How do you mean? Usually, it's the other way around for most people."
"Being alone, you know you're safe. Whereas, if you're not alone, it begs the question, who or what is here with me?"

We drove through the desert roads that went on and on. My best friend, Penny, drove us to the infamous myth.
"So now that we're almost there, do you really believe that they're holding creatures there?" Penny wondered. I flipped through the magazine, placing my feet up on the dashboard.
"Uh, of course I do!" I scoffed.
"You believe anything." She rolled her eyes. She took a right turn down another long road through dry land.
"How silly do you have to be to really believe that we are the only things living on this huge earth?" I replied.
"Luna, I don't believe we're the only things on earth but to think aliens are on earth is just too far fetched. Maybe something like Bigfoot." She suggested the myth. Now it was my turn to roll my eyes.
"Oh please, Bigfoot? What— a man in a furry suit?" I laughed at the ridiculous belief.
She raised an eyebrow as she kept her eyes on the road ahead of us.
"Let's see, you believe in ghosts, demons, and even aliens but Bigfoot is where you draw the line."
I smiled, knowing that I had irritated her, "Yep."

We drove up, turning the car off and as we got out of the vehicle we realized there was a whole group of people standing there. Some even wearing alien masks or costumes. It must've been around thirty people standing there.
"What's going on here?" Penny asked a man in the crowd when we walked up close to him.
"We're storming Area 51, we're finally gonna find out what they're hiding from us." He said with a smile. Based off his messy blond hair, tired green eyes and the smile all tied together, he appeared slightly unhinged. Of course he'd be here.
"Storming? You think that's a good idea? They'll shoot you if you try anything." Penny replied back.
"They can't stop all of us." He waves his hand to the medium-sized crowd.
I tugged onto Penny's shirt, "You didn't tell me there'd be a group of crazies here."
"I didn't know they'd be here either, but we might as well suck it up, buttercup." She shrugs before making her way swiftly through the crowd of people while I follow shortly behind. The three guards paced back and forth behind the bar, blocking the path as they kept a close eye on the crowd.
"Hey sir, what's going on here?" Penny asked.
"I'm wondering the same thing." He replied as a handful of vehicles revved up the path. People jumped out and made their way to the crowd, resulting in a significantly larger one. One you could actually become lost in now. From around thirty people to about fifty.
"I don't have a good feeling about this at all." I say aloud. Penny leads me back through the crowd.
"So tonight, at nine o'clock, we raid. We all run, don't look back and don't stop." I had overheard a man whispering to his friend. We make our way back into the vehicle, sitting and deciding on what to do.
"I heard someone in the crowd saying they're planning to raid the place and run past the guards." I admitted to Penny who in response, started cackling.
"Oh this is gonna be so good. We need to sit here and watch it all go down." She replied. Somehow, I didn't think this was going to be entertaining.

Nine o'clock, my phone reads. I glance up to see the crowd become more aggressive. Everyone was pushing each other, yelling at each other and the guards.
"Come on!" Penny says before hopping out of the vehicle and running up to the crowd. I stood beside a hyper Penny after following her.
"What're you guys hiding, huh?!" A woman yelled to the guards who was holding a leash attached to two German Shepards.
"This is a highly private government facility." The guard responded uninterested in the crowd's intention.
"We'll see for ourselves then." A man says from the front of the crowd. Suddenly, three flare guns shoot off, blinding the guards who held their eyes in pain. As the huge crowd begins to sprint past, the dogs begin to chase them while barking and growling.
Penny hits my shoulder, "Come on." She says before dragging me along the desert. We crouched around the area in our dark clothing, but we weren't following the crowd. Suddenly, multiple tan trucks started driving around all over. Driving so fast, dirt spun and twirled around in the air. Just then, bright lights shone upon us.
"Hurry, come in here!" Penny exclaims grabbing me down. Falling down, we both landed on a hard floor, grunting and groaning. After finally opening my eyes, I saw a hatch in the ceiling. She must've pulled me through that, making us both fall.

Once we both sat up and took in our surroundings, it was similar to a surgical room but completely empty. That was until a man rushed into the room, causing us both to scream and throw our hands in the air.
"Please don't shoot! We didn't mean to come in here!" I exclaimed, squinting my eyes.
"Hush! I'm not going to shoot, we're not even supposed to be here." The man replied. Slowly, we place our hands back down by our sides.
"What're you doing here then?" Penny inquired the man.
He sighs heavily, "If you're here for aliens, you won't be finding them here."
Penny turns to me with a loud laugh, "Ha! Told you they don't exist."
"No, but because we can't even find them either now."
